Bought for a turbo replacement on my truck. Fantastic gripping by the 6 point closed end. Highly recommend.

Managed to take off an exhaust manifold nut without rounding in a very hard to reach location. Interestingly, neither the nut nor the stud were corroded. Anything else was slipping, it was for sure overtorqued, but with the Gearwrench it came loose! A relief indeed.Much better than your every day 12-point wrenches, with ratchet and angle adjustment do their job usually - until they don't!Though somewhat expensive, they make a nice addition to the toolbox.

Seem to be nice wrenches with a 6 point end which is what I was looking for. A 6 point end helps bust nuts better than a 12 point end. I see there are some reviews where people think the open end is cast or machined poorly. However, that strange looking open end is actually a feature that is suppose to help prevent rounding off bolts. Just look at the back of the packaging to see a small description. You can also look at the front of the packaging and clearly see that the wrench on the package has that same look. There are some Husky brand, thin access wrenches from Home Depot, that are made the same way.

Great for undoing those stubborn bolts and you don’t round them off like a 12 point when putting a lot of pressure on.

I purchased this 6-point set to supplement the 12-point set that I have, with the intention of busting stubborn fasteners without rounding them. The shipment was fast and arrived intact. The set consists of 14 pieces from 6 mm to 19 mm standard-beam wrenches in a pouch. Even though they are classified as standard beam wrenches, they are about 3/4 inch longer than other traditional standard beam wrenches that I have. Upon close inspection, the wrenches are within the tolerance, the thickness of the open ends, and the broaching of the boxed end are consistent and smooth throughout; and the chrome is bright and deep. Regarding durability, I will revise this review with future updates as I gain insight into the topics. Some of the negatives are: a couple of wrenches are slightly bent, and the beam width of the smaller wrenches - 6 mm - 8 mm - are too narrow, which may not be suitable for folks with large hands or with gloves on. I mainly use them for repairing small appliances and electronics where small nuts and bolts are found.06/29/2023 Update: I have used some of the wrenches quite often on both clean and rusted fasteners alike for brake jobs. For my set, the wrenches fitted nicely on the fasteners with little plays, and they have been helpful in tight spot thus far without having to fumble around with impact sockets. I am sure they will last for a long time since I am not the one that tends to stress my hand tools to the breaking point, since every hand tool has its limit, and doing so will wear down the tools before their service time. I am glad that I have acquired this set!10/11/2024 Update: The wrenches are still holding up nicely for me, so I raise the rating to 4 stars!

The overall finish of the product is not the greatest(chrome finish) but the fact That it is almost impossible to find 6 point wrenches vercomes the small details. So far it has stood against a number of tasks. Mostly rounded off bolts and nuts
