3 of the package were bowed enough to not be able to roll across a table. The rest were fine, so make sure you check them all if you need all in the pack.

These things work great. I’m not entirely sure what they’re actually for but I used them to mock up a scale model of a homemade pulley-system-on-rails I wanted to rig to the ceiling. The bearings I used were here on Amazon, called “uxcell 694ZZ Deep Groove Ball Bearing Double Shield 694-2Z 1080094, 4mm x 11mm x 4mm Carbon Steel Bearings”.Bit of a mouthful; important part is that they’re 4mm bearings. They fit real nice and snug onto the ends of these shafts. Some fits were tighter than others, probably due to microscopic differences in manufacturing from one example to the next, but for the most part I didn’t even have to secure the bearings onto the rods with glue or anything. They just stayed put.

Well.... it's not 4mm. The shafts measure in at .155" which is notably smaller than 4 mm (.1575"). It's actually slightly smaller than 5/32. They are closed so it depends on your application whether or not they'll work. If you're counting on these to be used as a brushless motor shaft then you're out of luck. They'll slide easily in and out of a 4 mm bearing and still have a small amount of play. If your application doesn't have to be very precise then they might be "close enough."

If you're looking for a metric rod, this isn't it. It's a 5/32" rod. They aren't the same. They don't even bother to label it as 4 mm: it comes in a package clearly stating that it's 5/32". If 31 microns is the difference between, say, a bearing coming off a shaft, don't buy these. For some applications it might be fine, but then just buy 5/32", which is cheaper.
