Used this to pass a 12v low voltage plug through drywall... Drilled 1/2" hole in drywall and then screwed this bushing in. It's a nice tight fit and can be unscrewed and rescrewed without any noticable loss of snugness. Plug just squeezed through the opening.

These bushings are grossly overpriced and not anywhere near their advertised diameter, which is why one of the other reviewers drilled an oversized 1-1/4 hole when trying to install these bushings. Thie true inner diameter of these bushings is about 1-inch and the pass-though outer diameter is about 1-1/8". In my opinion the gray 1-1/4 in. PVC Male Terminal adapters commonly sold in the eletrical departments of Home Depot or Lowes is a much better alternative for passing wires thorugh drywall if you are looking for true 1-1/4" hole capacity.

As long as the hole is not bored out too much, these screw in very tight and fit well against the wall.

With no guidance from the manufacturer or seller on which drill bit size to use to make the hole, I guessed wrong and ended up with a hole too big. A lot of time and frustration could have been avoided simply by publishing drill bit sizes for these.

A must for pulling heavy cabling and not scratching it up. We use silicon Calk on the threads before screwing them in. Customers have complimented the look too

I didn't need 100, but they are impressively useful when you need them!

These are great adapters if you need to run wire through drywall or similar material! They are easy to install, and much smaller adapters than other items on the market.

We're undergoing a renovation at our house and many of the walls are open. I took the opportunity to wire a ton of AV cables in the walls and ceiling to facilitate a very clean installation of multiple TVs, network devices, and surround sound speakers. In the past I placed the center, front left, and front right satellite speakers on a bookshelf below the TV, and I did not have any rear satellite speakers because I didn't want to run cables up the outside of the wall. Now that I could hide the wires, I needed a clean way to get the speaker cables through the wall/ceiling to the speaker. I considered mounting a standard low-voltage electrical box and using a white wall plate (for example ) with speaker binding posts, but a) it's big, b) it stands out like a sore thumb on the wall, c) if I decide to move the TV later, it creates a large hole to patch.I considered just drilling a hole through the drywall and leaving it unfinished, but that wasn't very clean either. I looked at other "grommet" options, for example: -- Too big/unsightly -- Reviews indicate center opening is too small for speaker wire, disc is large and unsightly, only available in black/ivoryI stumbled upon these bushings and they were EXACTLY what I was looking for - small, white, large enough to fit a speaker wire with shielding. I purchased the 1/2" bushings. I drilled a hole in the drywall using a 1/2" paddle drill bit. This bushing screws perfectly into the 1/2" hole and snugs up nicely to the wall. I used an open end box wrench (the bushing has a plastic hex head) to tighten the bushing into the wall. Just be careful not to use too much force as you may round the corners of the bushing. I installed 2 on the front wall, and 2 on the ceiling for the rear speakers, and they look great. They can be painted to match if desired, but should be easily hidden behind a wall speaker. For the record, I used for speaker cable. They come in a box of 100 which is a lot for most people, but the price is very reasonable. I'm very satisfied with these, and highly recommend them to anyone doing any sort of AV installation.
