I bought two ap-5 units and they both have the same issue ....they worked a little more than a week then got stuck in the Access granted mode so the Gates won't close.The older ones are still working.I bought these ap-5 just to add more gate openers

These are so sensitive to voltage. Best to use 12 volts. If you use 24 volts then any power spike will blow it. Here is the thing, if you use 12 volts it doesn't work well in the cold weather. Also, immediately put these contacts into a relay. The supplied contacts won't handle an amp without blowing. I used a long piece of outdoor rated coax and put the antenna up a tall tree. It has much better reception. This is made in China and has very small components. I wish there was a better built one. Ace Hardware has one about this quality in stock. This says Linear but it should say, "Chinese - Linear cop out"

A great replacement for the AP-4. Adds a second relay and some additional programming.Unlike the AP-4, you must set the relay activation time (26#). You will also need program if the transmitter is a timed relay or a toggle relay.Everything else is basically the same.
