The Lindy Fisherman Series Drift Sock provides a convenient, simple and economical way to slow your drift or more-precisely follow breaklines or other fish-attracting structure when the wind kicks up. The Fisherman Series deploys with ease and dries quickly for convenient storage. The design resists spinning or tangling, and reinforced nylon prevents fraying. Anglers facing windy conditions have always struggled with boat control. Not only is it difficult to stay on fish-holding structure in the wind, it is also very tough to consistently present live bait and lures to fish. With the aid of Lindy Drift Control products, this becomes not only possible, but easy. For years, anglers concocted their own methods of dealing with wind and waves. Many tied 5-gallon buckets to their cleats to create drag; others added as much as 500 pounds of sand on the inside of the boat to hold it down in the waves. Sand bags help to reduce bouncing, but they cause sore backs and greatly reduce speed and acceleration in better conditions. The biggest problem with these methods is their lack of convenience. The folks at Lindy Drift Control set out to create a product that solved all of the problems. The result was a drift sock that does much more than that. Lindy Drift Control Drift Socks are tough, dependable and easy to use. Plus, they dry quickly and pack small so they can be stowed in boat storage compartments. Try a Lindy Drift Control Drift Sock one time and it will become one of the most beneficial, hassle-free tools to put more fish in the boat, even when conditions hamper other anglers. The reinforced nylon material on the Fisherman Series Drift Sock is coated for durability and water-resistance, and resists fraying from normal use. This material also holds up in shallow-water conditions. The Fisherman Series comes with a dump line already attached, making retrieval a snap. For serious anglers, Lindy Drift Control Drift Socks are essential to angling and boat control.

I connected this to my two front boat cleats with 10ft rope on each side and let it run underneath the center of my boat. Slowed the slowest engine speed from 2.5mph to 1.8mph using 36" size - works great! Now I can troll slower without burning thru trolling motor battery.

The drift sock works great. I prefer back trolling for Pickerel (Walleye) and this size of drift sock keeps me at the right speed when it is too windy for the electric trolling motor.

Good product, but you need to buy extra floating Rope, small Float and quick release Clip for it to become usable.

I bought two of these for my 22' boat. Although the package says not to use them for trolling brakes, that's exactly what I do with them. I have a 260 hp I/O and the slowest I could troll was 2.5-3.0 mph. With both drift anchors deployed I am trolling at between 1.5 and 2.0 mph. Seem to be holding up fine. Easy to install and easy to dump.

I do a lot of drift fishing on grass flats in the Florida Keys. Normally I have 2-3 people who join me. This drift control sock keeps my boat perpendicular to the wind so we can spread out on the length of the boat and fish comfortably. Really slows the drift too, I give it a big thumbs up.Seems sturdy, though I can't comment on legality as I have only used it a few times. Since I don't run with it, I expect it to last awhile
