Worth twice as much,weld is stronger then the ax I think ! I'm a builder and I'd go back into a fire to retrieve it..It's good to know ther are still good things for the $..cannot beat it ,and balanced well..

I got mine a few years ago now, and I still use it every time I go camping. It's awesome for kindling and various little things around camp.Keep in mind, it isn't a heavy-duty axe for throwing or splitting big chunks of wood. Because of its design, with the handle being split into several detachable pieces for tools, it makes the handle a bit less sturdy. Also, the flat part on the back of the axe head (presumably for hammering in stakes, etc.), catches on the wood when splitting kindling, so you have to do it at more of an angle.The knife, bottle opener, and flint are pretty cool features as well.

Cumple con su cometido pero tiene ciertas funciones que necesitan mejorarse.La brújula no contaba con flecha indicadora, el pedernal no es de lo mejor y por último y más importante: la textura hace que para el uso continuo se necesiten guantes para evitar daños en las palmas de las manos.

First the pros. It is sharp and does retain it's edge pretty well and will sharpen back up easily too. It is versatile and even the little fire striker will work though it is small and kinda hard to use.Now the cons...It arrived missing the grip tape. That's fine, but I thought I'd note that. Also, the two screws which hold the axe head to the handle keep coming loose. Doesn't happen too bad if I'm cutting small pieces as big around as my thumb, but if I have to make more than 3 or 4 swings, the screws get loose and I have to retighten them. I tried locktite, but that was only a temporary solution.

I'd give it all 5 stars, but I would call it "sturdy" and "solid" rather than "lightweight".That said, this thing is amazing! Granted, I have only had it for a week or so and only used it as a hatchet but it works great! Even comes with some liquid and a whetstone! As a medium-strength girl, I would say that between this hatchet and my brother's, this one is several inches longer and it actually really helps when I'm chopping wood. I can actually keep up with my brother while he is using his slightly smaller hatchet. When we traded, I fell way behind. Because of this, I realized just how much I was making the hatchet do the work which also helped my endurance. Highly recommended!

I'm writing this review because no one had done so prior to my purchase. I just wanted to advise anyone that was interested, that they would not be disappointed with this multi tool hatchet. The quality is more than I expected for the price, which by the way, was less than an almost identical competitor. I was trying to decide between this model and the other. The only real difference was the actual hatchet blade. The Liantral hatchet has a more substantial broader curved blade and was just a little bit heavier than the competitor which I believe would mean fewer chops to accomplish the desired task. It also has a really cool etching of a wolf on both sides of the blade ( not important but cool none the less). The packaging is excellent. Every piece is in it's own little cutout section in the box nice and secure. All the sections fit together perfectly; nice and tight. The sheath does have a belt loop but if I had to head for the woods, I would just leave the hatchet in it's box and put it in my back pack. Both the hatchet and the knife were nicely sharpened right out of the box. I am very satisfied with this hatchet! I would recommend it to my friends.I gave this a 5 star rating because I bought it as a potential survival tool in case the world goes off the deep end. I didn't buy it for everyday use. I would probably give it a 4 star rating If I had bought it for use on a regular basis. The reason for that is the handle is made out of aluminum and to keep it from being slick and slipping out of you're hands constantly; the entire handle is textured or (knurled). You would need to wear gloves for any extended use or it would at the least make you're hands raw and probably add some blisters as well.Well I hope this review helps someone trying to decide whether or not to purchase this item because there hasn't been any customer reviews posted. I admit, I normally don't take chances on buying products without at least some reviews. This time I'm glad I took the gamble. I was rewarded with a good product!!
