About this item

  • An outdoor outlet must be able to withstand the elements. Our weather-resistant GFCIs feature stainless steel strap and screws, UV stabilized plastics and a cold impact resistance face and buttons.
  • Continuously protects against electric shock & electrocution by interrupting power if a ground-fault is detected.
  • Required by the NEC for areas around the home within a close proximity to a water source (kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, basement, garage/carport, pool area).
  • Patented reset/lockout feature prevents reset if the GFCI is unable to respond to a ground-fault or if it isn't wired properly. Regularly conducts an automatic self-test to ensure safety.
  • LED indicator provides simple, intuitive feedback on power and protection status.

A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) is an important safety device which helps protect people from electric shock and electrocution due to hazardous ground-faults. Ground-faults occur when a current flows along an unintended path, such as through water or a person. Our blank face GFCI provides protection with a clean appearance in places where an outlet is not needed such as behind a hot tub or spa. Leviton GFCIs help protect people while meeting or exceeding National Electric Code® (NEC®) standards. No matter what your installation needs are, we have a GFCI that's right for you. Available options in the Leviton line include Standard, Weather-Resistant, Combo GFCI/USB, Combo GFCI/Switch, Guide Light, Audible Alert, Wi-Fi GFCI, Blank Face, Dual-Function AFCI/GFCI and GFCI Circuit Breakers.

THESE WERE GREAT FOR MY MINI UPDATE IN THE KITCHEN .. I PUT IN ALL GRAY OUTLET COVERS BUT THEN HAD THE OLD OFF WHITE OUTLETS AND SWITCHES... THESE WERE EASY TO INSTALL ( I AM NOT AN ELECTRICIAN) AND THEY LOOK MODERN.. I HAVE HAD THEM IN MY KITHEN FOR TWO PLUS YEARS NOW

I got it because my electrician recommended it. He replaced the broken one and everything seems all right now.

Load and line terminals where flipped compared to what I replaced. Not sure if it’s because it came from Canada Make sure to look before installation. But worked perfect being shallow was a plus.

Leviton is a reputable brand and I’ve had great luck using their products. GFCIs are no exception. Was looking for some GFCIs to install outdoor and wanted gray to match the boxes, and weather rated ones to keep moisture out of the receptacles. Had a hard time finding locally at hardware stores so just decided to go the Amazon route. These work well, trip as they should and show a green/red LED indicator whether the GFCI is working or is tripped or has failed.

I bought this to replace a GFCI that kept tripping. I bought this and a Leviton "while in use cover" which I silicone sealed. With this combination I have had no issues and really appreciate that I can see the green light through the cover and know the GFCI is operational. Where I live we get more moisture/rain at Christmas than anything (Newfoundland Canada). My lights were constantly tripping but now with this GFCI and Leviton cover there is never an issue.

Works great and I was able to install it with minimal hassle. I had to snap the rabbit ears off for installation outside in a weatherproof box. The bend marks could be slightly deeper but they snap off fairly easily.

Installation was straightforward. The instructions were detailed (maybe too detailed, if you already know what you are doing). Because of where I was installing the receptacle and the wire length available, I appreciated the new (to me) alternative of sliding the wire ends under a clamp and tightening rather than wrapping around a screw head. I've never been a fan of the "stab"connections, this seems much more secure. The outlet is working, I hope that it lasts as long as the one it replaces. To those complaining the outlet won't reset after installation, make sure that you have it wired correctly. They state explicitly that it will not activate until it is wired correctly. To those complaining that it is tripping regularly, check that what you are plugging in to it doesn't have a ground fault. That's what it is protecting against, after all.

I have used Leviton outlets many times and this GFCI lived up to my expectations of high quality at a competitive price. It was easy to install and works as advertised. Time to replace the outdoor plugs at my home and bring them up to the current electrical code requirements. This product is excellent with weather-resistant and tamper-resistant features (as my originals were not). Recommend a safety check of your outdoor outlets before putting out those Christmas lights.

The indoor, tamper resistant and weather resistant versions are the same physical size. So I'm going to post the same review for all. Photos are a mixture of the different versions and not necessarily representative of the product. See listing for actual. The slim design fits in the old, small metal boxes. Great for installing in an old house that was lacking GFCI.If feeding another outlet from the GFCI, it is a very tight fit to have 2 sets of wire in an old metal box (single size). I opted to replace the box with a new plastic one, since the garage was unfinished and easy to access. Might not be an option for everyone, so be aware when planning. At first I was a little frustrated that there is only room for a single ground wire to be connected to. Then I discovered Greenie wire nuts. Of course a pigtail works too, but takes up slightly more room and wire. While these GFCI are slim, they are still significantly larger than a standard outlet. Just what I've learned while installing these.I've only installed one weather resistant one so far (in a laundry room), but the green LED on it was far more dim than the indoor version. Seems backward, but maybe it was just a fluke. The tamper resistant versions works. When verifying with a multimeter after install, I had to insert both probes at the same time, otherwise the little flaps won't open. The price here on Amazon is significantly less than the local hardware store. Another win.So far, I'm very satisfied with these. I went ahead and put one in each outlet even in locations that I could have used a regular one fed from an upstream GFCI. Did this for extra peace of mind, and so there is never any question which outlets are protected. These come with instructions and stickers to label other outlets. That would be really handy for some situations. Personally I didn't want the look of the stickers in the house. Also, kids love stickers. The stickers might not have stayed in place. I plan to use them in the garage though.I like the clean white look, rather than the typical red and black buttons. The back of the outlet is labeled in English and Spanish. A wire strip gauge is also molded into the back. Really nice for the home handyman. One thing I really like about the weather resistant version better than the indoor is that the screws for the hot wire are black, and neutral are silver. Makes double checking your wiring easier. On the indoor ones, all screws are a brass color. Equipment Ground is green on both.I noticed that these require less bare wire than traditional outlets that you wrap the wire around the screw. This combined with the terminals being deeper into the box mean that you can usually cut off the old bent section of wire and strip a new clean section. Helps avoid breaking the wire due to bending fatigue. There's also a little brass clip thing on the front of the indoor ones that the WR don't have. It holds the bottom mounting screw in. Not sure what it is. Didn't affect my application so haven't looked it up.The load terminals are covered up with a warning label to help make sure the outlet gets installed correctly. Looks like Leviton thought of everything. Top notch quality product.

Identical to the store bought ones so have to assume legit - how do you test that.Straightforward to install as a normal GFCI.Didn’t test the water resistant part but he gfci tests ok.
