Great price with solid build quality. It’s solid porcelain and easy to install.

More attractive than the usual utility-room-type light fixture. Doesn’t have big, ugly slots for its fasteners. It’s shiny and bright white. We are using it for a mother of pearl lamp shade that hangs directly on the lightbulb itself and so it’s perfect. It doesn’t appear utilitarian at all.

Very small. Must have a round junction box for attatchment

Just like the old ones but smaller in diameter. The old one had an additional set of holes beyond the pair in this one. This version has one pair of holes that do match the box, but the diameter of the unit is almost exactly the same as the circular box, and thus does not completely cover the opening unless it is situated precisely in the center of the box. Not a problem for the garage though

These porcelain lampholders are very sturdy. Don't bother with flimsy plastic lampholders, spend the extra cash on porcelain and save yourself time in the long run. I've seen plastic lampholders crack and break in as little as one to two years....junk! I won't install anything besides porcelain lampholders in customer's houses.

As expected, this unit is solidly constructed, has no extras or do-dads, and functions perfectly.

love these classic porcelains . its hard to find ones that dont have chains or plugs in them or are plastic. these look great with edison bulbs in them .. the bad news is that you should know that they wont cove the usual electrical box. sho for a retrofit they wont cover the hole . if youre building fromscratch theres a box that works fine with them

When I opened the box I was thrilled, they looked great. I was going to use them as sconce in a bathroom for an industrial look. A few months later when our electrician was set to install them he delivered the bad news that they weren't able to fit over a 4" box. It looks like amazon has changed the description to read correctly that it will fit a 3-1/4" box, previously it was stated that it would work with a 3-1/4" OR a 4" box. The shame of it is that had I known that I could have easily had them roughed in correctly. If they are the right size for you, then I would recommend them. You could come to my garage sale in a month and pick them up for a quarter.

After searching for the right fixture at the big box stores, I decided to search the web. I found exactly waht I wanted with the Leviton fixture. Very simple. Porcelain. Inexpensive. When used with the Edison bulbs, you have real fashion for just a few dollars.
