The plastic tubes and spikes on the four 9" roller refills feel stiff, sturdy, and good quality. Though the roller handle wire is strong and doesn't flex, the yellow plastic part is rather basic, and unfortunately isn't threaded, so it can't accept a standard threaded pole. Since most folks will use this tool on floors, it's a major design oversight, because kneeling or bending over to roll by hand isn't practical.So if you order this kit, you have two options. Either use the rollers on a different handle that's threaded, or just shove in the non-threaded side of a spare pole (the wooden broom handle that I tried did fit snugly), then secure it with some waterproof duct tape, glue or screws. The pole is probably the easier solution, unless you already happen to have a threaded handle that can fit through the small holes of those yellow tube ends. Removing the yellow ends might not work, since the tube inner diameter looks slightly larger than that of a standard paint roller handle, so it might be too loose to stay on or roll properly.
