A fantastic little notebook. It fits nicely into a pair of jeans front pockets or in a jacket. The paper is smooth and writes well with a variety of pens, I primarily use gel and fountain pens and the paper handles this well. There is some slight ghosting, especially where a lot of ink is put down but it’s not too bad as to distract. The back pocket holds a few folded notes and some torn out pages but too much will make it bulge. The main downside is there is no integrated pen holder, but I’ve found that a pen can be held in the fold of the notebook and kept in place with the elastic strap.

I work in a kitchen and use this everyday to write out my prep, reservations, talking points and general reminders, it’s great for me and I write with Zebra Sarasa pens which do take a second to dry but the paper never smears or gets extra ink on it!

Started out by using these as notebooks for university———they're a much less expensive, and more professional and work-a-day, alternative to the other well-known brand. I'd recommend them all day long.

The cover is soft but still pretty durable. Not a hardcover but definitely better than most paper covers. The paper itself is pretty thin but is able to handle a fountain pen without any bleeding or feathering. The words ghost a bit through the page, but it isn’t distracting

This little notebook is oddly shaped, but if you can get past that you'll like it. My main concern is the shape being 3.5"x6". Its a great notebook dont get me wrong and i like it but that extra half an inch just annoys me. Being softbound it only has 123 pages i think and since its softbound the paper quality is worse than the hardcover. Still a very lovely notebook and worthy to be in my collection of notebooks, but that's just it it feels like a novelty purchase. It's still very usable and very sturdy. I like this notebook because it's fountain pen friendly to some degree, but other mediums, like the zebra mildliners bleed through. Use for your collection, but that's all i would use it for.

This is a beautiful ‘pocket’ sized notebook, with gorgeous writing paper. Brilliant quality which is why I always buy Leuchtturm notebooks.

This is my favorite notebook in the world. Soft cover, so you can fit it in a pocket if you need to. It bends nicely so that it's not annoying in your pocket. It has more pages than you'd get in a Field Notes notebook - about 120 which tends to make it last a little longer (which I like). Dotted paper - great for both taking notes and scribbling designs. Ink doesn't bleed, and the paper and whole notebook is of great quality. Beautiful details. I highly recommend adding their pen loop which makes sure you always have your favorite pen to write with. Highly recommended.

Yeah...I received a bit of razzing when I initially purchased the Leuchtturm1917 Pocket Sized Soft Cover Notebook/Journal. I don't carry a smartphone around with me all day to occupy my time. This provides me with a distraction when I'm bored or have something I don't want to forget(getting old stinks!). For me it's just an all-purpose tool for writing down whatever. I learned this was a better brand and for only $10ish I decided to give it a shot! The Good:Quality. You can tell this is built for use and not to look pretty(although I think simple is good for me).Flexible Cover/Size. Perfect for taking with you because not all good ideas happen at home.Elastic Band. Keeps it shut for privacy although personally I wouldn't write/draw anything I didn't mind others seeing.Pages. Rounded corners for pocket comfort and the dots are actually useful(I was a skeptic). I can't vouch for bleed-through due to only using lead(Zebra M-103 mechanical pencil). The Bad:Bookmark. I know some people like it, but for me I think it looks silly on such a small notebook. I can flip through 121 pages in half a second to find my place!Table of Contents. Again, personal preference, but I feel your cheating yourself of space if you limit topics to certain sections. I suppose if it's going to be read by others I can see the point...Pen Loop. Ok, technically not a feature of the notebook itself, but the optional loop is incredibly expensive for what it is. I paid almost as much for the loop as I did the notebook! It is very functional, however, so they should have made it part of the notebook and just made it more expensive.I've only been using it for a couple weeks so I'll update later on. 4 stars for right now as my negatives are really just nit-picks.Jae

These notebooks are fantastic. Unlined paper means you can draw and sketch easily, make lists, and have greater flexibility with your journaling. They are softcover too, and just the right size and weight for traveling. The band that wraps around it prevents the notebook from opening in a backpack and the pages getting crushed.I used this while living in rural Borneo for two months and it met all of my needs and expectations. Held up to humidity also! and it comes with some nice stickers even though I like to keep the plain black cover. As a side note - a great alternative to the more expensive moleskins. I didn't notice a difference. The paper is a nice color and feels great.

This one has a couple less pages than the average softcover moleskine (which has become a rarity anyway for some reason), but is a heck of a lot better thought out. It's also cheaper. How is it better thought out? They did a couple of simple things:1) They numbered the pages2) They made a table of contents3) The included helpful stickers for making titles. This is huge; I have a stack of moleskines at this point, and the only way to organize them at a glance is to use sharpie on the edge4) The rubber band and bookmarks are made of sturdier material5) The paper is superior in quality.6) Finally, for the squares, for some reason, recent moleskines use VERY dark squares. Kikkerland doesn't.I'm assuming the spine quality is as good or better than moleskines (not hard to do; moleskines are not sturdy).Little notebooks are very helpful. It's about time someone did a better one. Hats off for Deutsche quality.
