I used this box to make a weatherproof control panel to my 14' aluminum boat. It had plenty of room for 3 switch's as well as as a 12V outlet, Trolling motor connector, anchor light mount and a Volt meter. The box itself was very solid and well made too.

Nicely finished and sturdy box. For the few dollars this cost over plastic, what a bargain. I guess more to the point, I don't know why plastic boxes cost so much. I may never buy another plastic box. I haven't tested it, but I'm sure it's likely water tight.

If there is a doomsday device the size of a Rubics Cube, then it is housed in this box. Heavy cast aluminum, an impeccable coating finish and well-machined surfaces: it is a very nice product and significant overkill for my purposes, to house a switch and a couple of jacks. This is a *man's* project box.

This review is only for the "LeMotech Aluminum Alloy Metal Junction Box IP67 Waterproof Dustproof Small Electrical Box" in the 2.5" x 2.2" x 1.3" size. Details might differ for the other sizes of this product. This box is made from aluminum, or at least some kind of aluminum alloy. It comes painted in a light gray color, and it appears to be a powder coated finish; looks like it will stand up to an outdoor industrial environment. The box (five sides) is a single piece casting, while the sixth side is the detachable cover, also a casting. No part of this product is anything OTHER than painted metal (with the obvious exception being the elastomeric gasket, which might be silicone rubber. On this small size box, there are four screws to secure the cover to the box. They have recessed flush-mount heads, and appear to be made from stainless steel. They screw into threaded holes in the box. Some other reviews on Amazon state that these are "captive" screws, but on the small box I have, they are NOT captive and will fall out when unscrewed. With the cover removed, there are two deeply recessed holes for use with optional mounting screws (the screws are not included with the box). While the access holes are almost as deep as the box is tall, there is a shoulder flange at the bottom, for the head of the mounting screw(s) to grip; this means that the mounting screws only need to be as long as perhaps 1/8" (for the thickness of the box's base/shoulder) and then plus whatever depth you desire the screws to go into the anchoring material (that you are mounting the box to). The mounting holes, where the screws will pass through the base of the box, are about 3/16" diameter. The gasket is supplied loose as a rope of elastomeric material. It is up to the owner to press it into the groove on the inner periphery of the box's cover; there is more gasket length provided than what is actually required, so you can cut off the excess. Of course, this means that there is a potential leak point where the two ends of the gasket rope meet each other; it would be best to orient the cover such that whatever side has the gap is also the side facing downwards (if that is possible). A raised ridge on the rim of the box must press down into the gasket's groove on the cover, such that the gasket rope will deform into a "U" shape, resulting in a tight gasket seal with three sides of contact, which is very good.On the inner bottom of the box are two raised protuberances with flat tops and drilled/tapped holes in them. These may be used with screw(s), not included, to anchor a ring lug on a grounding wire in order to 'bond' the box to a grounding wire, or perhaps to mount a small circuit board, short terminal strip, etc.The paint appears to be fairly thick on the outside surfaces, and there does seem to be a thin layer of paint on the inner surfaces....I don't see any raw aluminum showing on the box that I have. The outer painted surface have a slightly textured finish, almost like "hammertone".Overall, I like this product and will probably buy more for other projects.

This is a nice heavy duty project box. I used it with a12 Volt, 5rpm motor to make a motorized turret for my forward facing sonar. It was the perfect size and I like the fact that it has a waterproof seal around the lid. This box has worked very well for this project.

Nice thick-walled nonferrous alloy which machines easily and efficiently, I was able to tap instead of using screw and nuts for mounting parts. The cover screws are captive so they can't fall out and get lost. Excellent gray, orange peel paint texture.I will buy more of these.

Used this as an outdoor electrical enclosure. Machining appears to be good, casting is good, seal is good, bottom line, if I needed another one I wouldn't hesitate to buy this one.
