I actually bought this for my dog. Feeding raw is new to me and this product works great. I use it regularly for grinding chicken thighs for him and it does really well with those bones. It however does not do well with drumsticks so I only buy thighs for him now. I've also used it to grind sirloin roasts to make great burger meat.My only issue has been with taking off the end cap piece after use. It won't unscrew unless I tap it with a hammer. Once I tap it, I can twist it off to break it all down to clean.

I absolutely Love this meat grinder. It works great! It is very fast and powerful. I bought it because I make my dogs food fresh each week. This grinder saves me so much time and effort. I wish I had gotten it years ago! It is a bit on the louder side, but that's what makes it so efficient. The powerful motor grinds so fast. You don't need it on too long, so I don't mind the noise. It is amazing quality and worth every penny.

We purchased the Mighty Bite Grinder to make sausage after using my Kitchenaid mixer attachment because it was underpowered. This machine is excellent. Ground 25 lbs of meat in under 10 mins. Made making sausage a breeze. Highly recommend.

This has been a worthy grinder indeed. We purchased this grinder as a deer camp just before hunting season this year. It has plenty of power and it is very easy to clean as far as meat grinders go. We have made multiple large batches of ground venison and we put the machine through it's paces. It performed beautifully. The motor seemed to stay fairly cool and it had no problem with the volume we put through it. We generally use hard fat for our burgers and the machine will slow down a touch when it hits a large chunk of it but it always recovers fast. Great product for the price.Just an FYI, my Father is a retired meat cutter with almost fifty years of experience and he really loves this grinder. Butcher approved!

We bought this grinder to make our own cat food. This is a relatively light job, converting cheap beef into mince that can be mixed with various additives. We used a food processor for a long time, but felt like we should have a more appropriate device. And, while there are many cheaper grinders, we opted to go a bit up-scale. The Mighty Bite is living up to expectations. The unit is larger than expected, heavier and more solid all around. The working parts are metal and feel very robust. Meat disappears into the inlet very rapidly - faster than we can feed it, most of the time. There's a bit of a trick with using the pusher. You need a varying pressure, very light most of the times, a bit more encouraging as larger lumps are ingested. Operation is far from silent, but no worse than with our food processor, and shorter in duration. (We've cut the processing time roughly in half.)Surprisingly, the coarse plate gives us a very soft grind, so we've had no need to use the finer plate. Clean-up is a pleasant surprise. There are no difficult-to-get-at crannies - everything rinses clean rapidly in a bit of soapy water.Overall, we're happy we spent a bit more to get the Mighty Bite. The unit seems well-built, and is enough fun to use that we're considering other applcations, such as making our own ground beef or sausages. (Of course, we can't speak to durability, as yet. If this message is still up here two years from now, with no venomous postscript, you can take that as an even stronger endorsement.)

LEM 1158 MIGHTY BITE MEAT GRINDER REVIEW:WOW !! A quality product. Well designed, Made in America, with Metal Gears !!.This grinder, exceeded my expectations. It arrived, on time, nicely packaged, with all parts protected with Styrofoam padding.A PLUS - The instruction book was of high quality printing; Glossy paper, well written, and in ENGLISH (not Pigeon English). The grinder housing is made of cast aluminum (not plastic). As are all functioning parts: (Auger, Grinding Head, and Meat Pan.) Everything fit together nicely. Without deburring or fiddling with ill fitting parts. The motor runs flawlessly; (fwd. speeds, and pulse reverse). The power rating of 500 watts, translates to 0.67 H.P.The handle is a nice touch. Allowing easy moving of the perfectly weighted grinder (16 lbs.), from place to place.I bought a meat grinder, years ago, but it was so heavy (75 lbs.) that I only used it once.I spent over a month researching meat grinders, and the only other one that was in the running (for weight, power, price, and made in America) was the Omcan (Fma) SM-G5010 1/2 HP Grinder # 21640. I didn't buy it, because it didn't have a handle. And I wasn't sure if the gears were metal like the LEM. (I read too many poor reviews of Chinese grinders with plastic gears, breaking. ADDITIONALLY, the LEM has a 2 year guarantee !!IN OPERATION: The LEM 1158 After initial washing of the grinding head (and parts) in warm soapy water; I assembled the parts and did a trial run on 5 lbs. of utility beef. The Grinder performed flawlessly, with plenty of power. It ground the meat faster than I could feed it; Never slowing down or overheating. When finished I ran the grinder an additional 10 secs. and most of the meat expelled itself. (With no need to run any bread through it.)CLEANUP - Was super easy. Warm soapy water again and a bottle brush. The end of the auger (that goes into the motor) and the grinding plates, I gave a squirt of food grade silicon.OVERALL EVALUATION - This little meat grinder is a workhorse. It looks like it will last for many years to come. AND IT'S MADE IN AMERICA !!If you're looking for a quality home grinder, you should consider this one.BTW. I don't receive any payment or special consideration for my review.

I bought this to turn bulk beef into burger, as well as to grind pork for sausage. I also plan to make links of various sizes and ingredients. When it arrived it was well packaged. Everything was in good condition. It was a few days until I found a large (almost 5#) beef roast on sale. Today was the test run. I thoroughly washed all the parts which would contact the meat. It has a coating of oil on these parts to protect from rust, this needed to be removed. Everything fit together very well, simple to assemble. The feeder pan simply fits onto the standing feeder tube, no screws to hold it on, but not needed, a very good snug fit. I had cubed the beef, mixed spices onto the cubes before grinding. I started the machine on the 'stuffer' setting, which is half speed. It gobbled the chunks like a starved pit bull, ejected beautiful burger. I ground it using the large 10mm plate, so it was course ground. I should have added some fat to the mix, as the resulting mince barely held together (my fault, not the grinders). I made a couple burgers, very lean and large. There was no lake o' grease in the skillet as with market ground beef. My heavens, it tasted like a hamburger! You know what I mean, right? The burger already ground usually doesn't have much taste at all, so it's a bust as far as flavor goes. These big round discs of minced cow actually had the burger flavor I'd been missing! The burgers had an actual 'crust' to them too, thanks to the lack of grease. There was a LOT of burger left, so off into the trusty zip-lock bags and into the freezer! I took the hint to feed it a slice of bread as a final step to push all the meat through, worked like a charm. I disassembled it, hand washed it using a sponge and bristled bottle brush, got every crack, crevice, and cranny totally clean, easy as pie. Put it back together and it's patiently waiting for our next adventure.I've used a hand grinder before, and that isn't a pleasure cruise, thank you very much. I bought a boston butt today for $1.29/ pound. Add the price of spices and I have perfect home made sausage for less than $1.50/ pound! I know what went into it, how much fat, how much spice, everything. I anticipate this paying for itself pretty quickly from processing bulk meat on sale into burgers, loose sausage, and links. Plus, it's just fun, folks! If I get lucky, Bambi will join the party as well. The grinder wasn't too loud, functioned flawlessly, and was a snap to operate and clean. It comes with 3 grinding dies, 1 course grind, 1 fine grind, and 1 to stuff links. It also includes 3 stuffing tubes to make links from breakfast link size up to a brat size. I'm sure more sizes are available as well. This is a great set-up for an occasional user, while having the power and speed to process a deer, a pig, or a beef. Yeah, it'll take a while as it says it can grind 3# a minute, but that's almost 200 pounds an hour! By the way, that is a realistic figure, not a load of overinflated advertising hype. For the price, this baby gets the job done! I anticipate many years of delicious adventures. Would I make this purchase again? In a heartbeat!
