Even though the description says E17, what I received was an ED17. There is a slight (1mm?) difference in size of the glass just above the screw-in base. It’s enough that the bulb will not screw into the fixture far enough to make proper contact. Have looked long and hard but cannot find the proper a size. Any suggestions? No, I can’t change the fixture. There are 10 of them in a commercial building.

The last bulb lasted for 10 years. The quality of the new bulb is the same as the old one. The color and brightness of the light is excellent and the cost is amazing low. This is a go to bulb if need a great security light.

Good price and lasts 2-3 years on a dusk-to-dawn basis. Gives a nice white light- much better than the yellow sodium lamps

I looked carefully before selecting a bulb.- This is 4000K, so it's about as white as I prefer before getting too blue, for outdoor lighting - it's a very good color that iluminates well- Lumen output is very high, even after a few thousand hours, you still get a great outputI'm not sure what else to say about a light bulb, so I'll leave it here.

Metal Halide Lights are a real pain. Bulbs are $36.00. If lightning strikes it turns the lamp off and will not come back on it's own. You have to turn off power for about 15 minutes. Heat draws bugs. Had to remove bottom cover and put spacers 1/4 inch between bottom cover and lamp housing so i could remove bugs, used a pipe cleaner. The lamp has to breathe because of heat , in time the plastic globe turns yellow. Replaced this dusk to dawn lamp with a LED barn lamp and could not be happier. No heat no bugs and the lamp is rated for 40,000 hours of operation and 35 watts power rating.,
