I bought the Leatt 2.5 Chest Protector mini/kids for my 4-year-old son who just started riding a PW50. He's 38lbs/41" tall and the protector has some room for growth. He's comfortable wearing it - it's a good starter protector. We'll move him up to the next Leatt size when he starts racing more often or moves up to a bigger bike.

Most people who seem to have negatives to say about this protector are not aware of how a chest protector is to fit. A protector is suppose to sit at or just above your belly button....not down to your waist. I have a slightly taller 6 year old boy and this fits him perfectly. The protector seems well built and of course it is from a well known name in the MX protection game. Its a tad costly for a Childs protector but if it saves him during one crash...it has paid for its self.

It has great front and back protection. The shoulder straps adjust for a growing kid. It provides good but NOT great side torso protection. My kid says he doesn't even know he's wearing it. I would have given it 5 stars. But, I can't get it to work with his Atlas Tyke neck brace. I am not sure if it will work with a kid's Leatt brace.
