I am sure these protect well if they stay in place. However, I sweat a lot and these sleeves slide on my arms.I had similar problems with the Leatt knee guards.Maybe they work great on other body types but not for me.Returned.

Ride road and MTB. Recently on a MTB trail whilst trying to get over a large rock it stopped me and I managed to perform a stand still slow motion fall. Caught my elbow on a rock and suffered a large gash. Lesson learned. Already have Leatt knee pads but never considered elbows until this. So found these and ordered XL. They fit slightly loose. But they have stayed up so far and I would rather have slightly loose than have them bind and restrict blood circulation. No have not fallen over since and hope to not to find out how well these will hold up. but the waffle type pads I feel will be as good as any and also I live in Texas a hot climate so these allow air to circulate and are lightweight. Great Aussie product.

Great elbow pads not to hot for fall, winter, and spring riding. They would probably be a little hot for summer riding. They stay put nicely. The only negative is they leave lines on my skin for several hours after riding 20 plus miles on the mountain bike.

I've put mine to the test in some falls on brutal rocks and they work great. The fit is good, they're not overly warm and I like them enough to wear them every ride, which is a good thing. My only beef is after about 20 rides they slip down sometimes and I have to pull them back up, but it's not a constant thing and it's not enough to annoy me. If it were they'd already be toast.

These are very tight on my not-giant forearms, and very loose on my non-pencil-thin upper arms, so they slide right down as soon as I start sweating and the going gets even the slightest bit rough. Just a very odd design, IMO.Update. Since it’s gotten incredibly hot in my riding area recently I decided to try these again, even though I complained about fit above. Well, they still fit oddly, but I’m finding this time around they stay up fine. The weird thing is they FEEL like they’re slipping down, but they actually are not. They definitely are cooler to wear than the lightweight TLD ones I’ve been wearing. Also, the pad is a bit bulky, but due to the overall design it’s easy to bend your elbows — these pads don’t restrict movement the way others do (in my experience). They still mark my forearms due to being incredibly tight there, but they have been a good solution in this much hotter weather. I’ll probably wear the TLDs when it’s not as hot.

Stays in place during riding. Cool enough so that I can wear during summer season. Flexible and comfortable enough to wear for long time. Size runs little bit larger, so you may need one size smaller than what you usually wear.

Love these elbow pads for mtb. I live in Texas so the summers are brutal. I can wear these all day and after a few minutes I forget I have them on. They are super breathable and flexible so they don't bind my arms while riding
