D3O is soft and flexible to keep the guards comfortable while riding, but on impact, the D3O material hardens to disperse the energy for protection. Was hoping to have these for this weekend at a lift assist park. Both elbow guards showed up obviously. ripped :(. Disappointing.

I used these elbow/forearm guards this past weekend on a very rocky downhill trail. I felt confident the elbow guards would provide the protection I needed. They are light weight, very breathable, and didn’t slide during the day. I had a pretty good wipeout when my front tire washed out on the trail. I wrapped my bike around a small tree and I did a full Superman with no cape. Thankfully my bike survived. The guards protected my elbows and forearms like a champ. They didn’t slide at all. Very happy with my purchase. They not only look good but they worked for me. Would have no issue recommending this product and purchasing again in the future. Only dislike, gave 4 stars due to the very small hole in the mesh by the seam. Hasn’t really been an issue though.
