I got this set as a second set for my grandchildren to use as I taught them the art of leathercraft. I was amazed when the tools arrived at the high quality. They work well and include a nice variety of stamps and tools. The grandkids were thrilled (and so was Grandma!)

I'm doing some leather craft, actually trying everything: wallets, knife sheaths, bags. Leather stamping it's a level-up for me. So, I tried to stamp and do a little bit of carving too. Of course, it doesn't work well, I need to study more, but it was fun. The swivel knife comes dull. It's not easy like YouTube shows.

Has anyone else had trouble with these not stamping? I tried three different types of leather and the print is hardly noticeable if at all. Do not recommend this set.

I'll start off by saying that I have never done any leather work before. I am an artist in my spare time and my preferred medium is clay because I love to sculpt but you're never to old to try something new. I have some tooled leather purses and things that I just love so when I saw this leather tooling and stamping kit I thought why not give it a try. Since I am an absolute beginner I can't say if this is a good set for someone with advanced skills but the tools certainly seem sturdy and well made and can take a beating. As you can see from my picture I had a little fun trying out the different stamps. I haven't tried the carving tool yet. There are so many art forms out there that I'd love to try my hand at but it can be quite expensive getting all the materials needed so to me for the price of this and everything you get it's a bargain. The only other thing you need is some leather to work on.
