Bought this kit to replace the button on my leatherman multitool sheath. I'd never added a button before and it was super easy and is holding much better than the one that fell off

This kit comes with snaps, a hole punch and the necessary setting tools. Photo instructions on how to use the snaps are included on the inside front cover of the box. It all seems to be a pretty good quality. Unlike some kits, the hole punch and setting tools are actually made rather thick and they even have sort of hand grips on them. Not something often seen.I didn't have any leather in my home that I could use to test these so I used two materials that I've used before for eyelets and grommets. I use a piece of upholstery vinyl and a piece of a thick stiff canvas glued together. The two of them together approximate the width and strength of a piece of leather that I would normally use.When cutting the hole for the snaps I had a very different result depending on which side of my material was face up. When the vinyl side was face up I had a fair amount of trouble getting through the fabric. I had to try a few times and almost made it the entire way through but ended up needing to cut out a bit of the canvas to finish off the hole. When the canvas was facing upwards it went right through easily on the first try. I actually went into the wooden step that I was setting it on. I included a picture of the hole in my stairs.Setting the snaps with the provided tools is very easy and the snaps go in just great.It snaps themselves work perfectly fine. They set in well to the fabric and stay sturdy when put together and snapped open and closed. I snapped them together and apart a number of times and everything is working together.Overall I like these snaps so far. There is no way to know how they will hold up to the wear and tear of time but so far they are holding well and I'm totally happy with them. I'd recommend these to anyone looking for sets of snaps who needs a kit because they need the setting tools. I'd also recommend this to previous snap users who might just be looking for a better set of tools. I'm personally of the latter and these tools are a huge upgrade from a kit I bought at the fabric store about 10 years ago.

What a great snaps set! I've never put snaps on fabric, but the instruction card included, the instructional video on the Amazon product page, and ALL the tools needed included, were all I needed to get the job done perfectly. The installed snaps are sturdy and have an excellent hold. I highly recommend this snaps set!

I like this little kit of button fasteners and snaps from Hapden. I’m sure that I will happily use it to fix a broken purse strap, and even maybe make an extra snap for a belt. I have some other projects in mind too, but I have found some issues standing in my way it.#1 the instructions only show some basic photos, and leave many questions unanswered#2 since my kit came with all black parts, a better labeling system is needed to discern what part is what#3 the box that it came in should have had separate slots for each piece, instead of everything being mixed up-it’s a giant confusion, even if they were separated into smaller baggies that would have helped#4 I had to go online to find the video in order to understand how to use this product, and what piece was for what purpose#5 I have to create my own set of instructions and do a makeshift tutorial, separate and label all the bits and pieces myself, and then “maybe” just “maybe” I can enjoy this product by Hapden

This is a great kit! I have a few denim items including a pair of shorts I love that the snap on the back pocket has come off and now I will be able to add a snap and fix them up. I also like to adjust clothing to fit or make customizations and I know I am going to have so much fun with these. Not only do you get the various sizes of snaps (40 sets) but you also get the tools you need to get the job done! For the price you can't go wrong...

I think this is a neat little set. The case is small but carries a lot. Tools are included and instructions are clear with photos. This will be used for some items that need new buttons. Easy to install.

I've had a chance to try out this snap fastener kit, and overall I'm pretty impressed with its quality. The snaps themselves are sturdy and easy to install, although it did take me a little while to figure out how to use them since there were no instructions included. Once I got the hang of it, though, they went in smoothly and seem to be holding up well. The kit comes with all the tools you need, including a hole punch and both ends of the snap, which is convenient.Despite that minor annoyance, I'm happy with how the snaps have performed so far. They're secure and don't come loose easily, which is exactly what I needed. The materials seem durable and well-made, and I haven't noticed any signs of wear or damage even after repeated use. If you're looking for a reliable snap fastener kit, this one is definitely worth considering. Just be prepared to spend a little time figuring things out if you're not familiar with the process. The quality of these snaps is really impressive! I bought them to replace the old Velcro on my tool pouch, and the installation was very simple. The instructions provided in the kit were clear, making it easy to install even for someone using snaps for the first time. Once installed, the snaps are secure and don’t come loose easily during use, perfectly meeting my needs. The packaging was intact,overall, I’m very satisfied with this experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for practical and durable snaps!
