This set is great, pretty neat, good to look at. One of the slides was labeled incorrectly but it was easy enough to put a sticker on it and then look at the description and write in the correct labels.

Fue un regalo para mi hijo y le encantaron, se ve claramente y no necesita tantos ajustes en el microscopio, un pequeño acercamiento para los niños curiosos

I like how these slides are put together for kids with four samples all on one slide (and labeled/identified right underneath the samples!), very easy for the kids to use. My kids think they are fascinating and are clamoring for more. For the price point and the target age group you can't go wrong with these. I'm going to get the other two sets available from this company. Some reviewers noted issues with dust, but our slides look great. We are using them with a Brock Magiscope.

My 4 year old daughter is very into science and all things STEM. We got her this slide set and paired them with the Carson pocket micrscope. I'm extremely pleased with the quality, especially for the price. We didn't want to invest a lot into a microscope set just yet because she is still young, and this was the perfect compromise. Together, they are much better than a toy, but not complicated or extremely fragile. My daughter is unusually gentle with things, so I'm not worried about her breaking this. I can't say whether or not they would be too fragile for another preschooler. I'm sure the slides would work well with any children's microscope. Overall, I highly recommend them! The microscope is the Carson MicroBrite 20x-40x Zoom LED Lighted Pocket Microscope.

My science loving granddaughter thought this was so cool. Not something you see every day. She is using her microscope a lot with this.

Quality of these prepared slides is just okay -- they are a good value for the money. These are not high quality prepared slides and are best viewed under a microscope that has some capability for reflected light observation. I found that the plant stem specimens worked best on our compound microscope, but many of the other specimens were too thick / opaque. I think that these will work quite well on something like the Brock Magiscope or a USB microscope and the paper surrounds with labels add a little bit of durability. The slides themselves are glass with a clear adhesive tape used as a coverslip. The clarity of the slides could definitely be better but overall we are happy with the purchase.

These slides are great starter slides for kids! They have a nice range of specimens (yes, including a couple of random things), but the ones we received focused beautifully under our microscope and were a wonderful way to introduce our kids to the magic of magnification. I do think these slides are best for elementary or middle school aged children - if I were looking for slides for high school students on upwards I would go for glass mounted slides with a single specimen per slide.

I was pleasantly surprised with the specimen especially after reading some of the reviews. The specimen are made well, were not dusty, boxed well and labeled nicely. I found that some people did not care for some of the slides. I thought all of them were incredible!! All the hair slides do look different, not all the same as someone stated in their review. If you have a duo-scope microscope (I have a My First Lab Duo-Scope - Love it!) that allows you to view the slides with light from above and light from below you will see major differences in detail. If you look at the slides with the light from below, some look a bit boring. But, if you use the light from above the slides the detail is amazing. My husband and I checked out all the slides before the kids and we were amazed! Even the hair samples looked great. We especially loved the ant slide, what detail!!! I think that the differences in what other reviewers saw have to do with the microscope being used. The 48 specimens come in two boxes of 6 slides each which are 6 different categories. Each slide contains 4 specimens. The slides for the first box are as follows:1)Pollen & Spore - Pollen of lily, Sunflower pollen, Bottle brush spore, Fern spore2)Tiny Creature - Plant louse, Fruit fly, Shrimp Egg, Silk worm larva (moth)3)Textile Fibers - Hemp fiber, Silk stuff, Cotton fiber, Bemberg4)Insects - Leg of butterfly, Wing of butterfly, Wing of locust, Leg of honey bee5)Plants - Pine Wood, Camellia leaf section, Bamboo shoot, Sponge gourd6)Animals - Goldfish scale, Hare hair, Camel hair, Feather fowl pointThe slides for the second box are as follows:1)Pollen & Spore - Tulip pollen, Leaf spore, Pine tree pollen, Orange pollen2)Tiny Creature - Common red sponge, Angora rabbit hair, Ant, Mouse fur3)Textile Fibers - Panya, Nylon, Wool, Handmade paper4)Insects - Dragon-Fly wing, Worker Bee wing, Bee antenna, Bee abdomen5)Plants - Stem of corn, Leaf of nerium, Onion rind, Silver berry scaly hair6)Animals - Cat hair, Canary feather, Dog hair, Sheep hairAll the specimens for each category is color coded. I am very happy with my purchase.
