I’ve been using this pot for making fishing weights, and it works great. It heats up fast, holds a good amount of lead, and I don’t need to refill as often. The temperature control is accurate, and the LED light shows when it’s ready to use, which is super convenient. I also feel safe with the auto-shutdown and cool handles. Really happy with the quality and how easy it makes my work. Definitely recommend it!

The limited volume made the process frustrating, and to top it off, the wires started to smell like burnt plastic. I don’t feel safe using this product and ended up throwing it away. Total waste of money!

They’re not kidding when they say this is fast melting. I loaded it up, started it, and to my surprise, it was ready to go before I even finished setting up everything else. This pot melts faster than any other I’ve used. The large capacity is a huge plus. I can complete all my pours without constantly needing to refill it, which saves so much time. The larger size also makes cleaning out any debris or leftover material much easier—there’s plenty of space to work with. Overall, I’m thoroughly enjoying this pot. It has made my pouring process significantly faster and more efficient. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to streamline their workflow!

I received this and wanted to try it out to see how it worked here are my findings1. first this pot is well made nothing cheap about it2. I placed 10oz of lead in it and timed how long it took to completely melt and ready to pour. it took just under 14 min.3. Next I poured into the mold I was using. the handle is solid and insulated easy to grip onto with my gloves on. the pot pour spots allowed me to pour an even and measured pouroverall: this is a nicely made melting pot and will work well for anyone wanting to make jig heads or weights.

I pour bank style sinkers in 2, 3, 4, and 5 ounce sizes. I used to use a small electric stove and a cast iron pan with a steel soup ladel---until I got this all-in one type unit. Now, a single unit, with heater and pan and pouring is very convenient for small batches. Once you get a 1/2 pound or so melted in the cup, add more lead slowly to fill it up. Once you have liquid lead, the rest starts to melt much faster. So, to keep a large pour going, after filling your mold, just re-add the same amount of lead between pours and you can really go for even extended pours. I do think that when I'm running 20lb of lead, that the large pot and ladel will be easier, but for a quick 5lb -10lb run, the convenience of this is so nice that you don't have to wait so long beween pours.Be sure to recognize the dangers of lead. Use proper protection equipment with good ventillation. Lead FUMES are NO JOKE, do not underestimate the dangers of Lead, be sure you know how to protect yourself and others.
