I work with and design RF circuits and need a reliable way to test inductors and capacitors. The price and functionality looked right so I purchased one of these. Testing inductors was ok until you get down to MHz frequencies (small inductors in the neighborhood of 1uH on up) - this meter simply doesn't have the resolution to test components at those values. However when it comes to capacitance measurement, the readings jump all over the place and never stabilize making it impossible to determine values down in the picofarad ranges.I have tested over 60 capacitor values and 40 inductor values and for capacitance measurements it is useless. That was the first unit. I requested a refund with "replace with the exact same item", and the replacement arrived today. Again I went through the battery of tests with the same inductors and capacitors previously mentioned. Same results - not useable to reliably measure capacitors and low value inductors don't show enough digits for the values being tested. I had a plan B and purchased a different LCR meter to compare readings against. I also have a multi-function tester that tests diodes, transistors, inductors, resistors and capacitors. Both of those devices measured inductors AND capacitors reliably, with the "Digital LCR Tester" (also purchased from Amazon - the one with the flip-up display and an orange or red sheath). Both of those devices correlate and display within the tolerance of the components as marked.This device simply does not perform to the expectation of what it is sold to do. Returning the replacement for a refund and keeping the "Proster LCR Meter Digital LCR Multimeter Capacitance Resistance Inductance Measuring Meter with LCD Over-Range Display" also sold by Amazon.I am a retired electronics engineer and computer scientist, for a frame of reference, so I know what I am doing and as a now-hobbyist in Amateur Radio, RF is RF and if low value inductors and capacitors can't be tested reliably I can't do what I need to do.

Accurate to the values written on the package of inductors I bought, easy to use. Goes from micro Henries up to Henries. Cheap and easy

I like the little tester; it seems to work just fine. A nice feature is the ability to clamp the test leads together and then zero the meter. I've been able to test some hand-wrapped coils in Microhenries. [My Goldchamp GC-470L only goes down to 20 millihenries, and doesn't seem very accurate at that.] I tested a few capacitors: a 1uf capacitor tested at .9 uf; a 4.7 uf capacitor tested at 4.83 uf; but a 470 uf capacitor tested at 415 uf. Unfortunately, I didn't have a few bebchmark inductors on hand to compare the meter's readings to. Still, it seems like a good...no, GREAT tester for $18! I'm glad I bought it.Full disclosure: I'm just getting my feet wet, so not an electronic engineer by any stretch of the imagination.
