This package came with so many seeds! I know lavender is famous for being hard to grow, but I also know 1:7000 is definitely going to sprout. Compared to other packs at home and garden stores, I find the price to be very fair. It’s almost time to plant in the southeast- and I can already smell the lavender through the bag! Seems easy enough to plant using trays in the next few weeks. Will update with more to come!

Lavender has always been one of my favorites, but also hard to grow. I’m hoping with this bulk type seeding, I can widespread plant with more success. The few I pulled out sprouted so they appear fresh. Won’t know if they grow into what they say, they are for several months.

Okay, so it's obviously winter time so I can't plant these outside right now for sure. However, I cannot wait to plant these lavender seeds this season! I just opened the package and they smell so fresh. They smell just like fresh cut lavender! I have plenty of room to grow as much as I can and these look like they're super fresh seeds, ready to plant. I am positive that these are going to grow well. They are unquestionably high quality seeds.

In general I like to buy lavender as starts or full clumps from a nursery but since I have seed trays I figured I’d like to give growing it from seed another go. There’s a lot of seed in this package, which won’t always translate to a high germination rate but I’m holding out hope. I started one batch in a tray of wet coconut coir shreds and another in some cactus planting medium. I thought the cactus medium would do better but so far it’s the coir that is sprouting. I think the difference is that the coir seems to retain heat a little better. That being said I started both trays about 3 weeks ago and one is already showing the first tiny sprouts. I’m super happy about this development and think this is a good quality seed so far (I’ll update if my opinion changes), its a great bargain if you have the patience and are willing to watch the humidity in your seed starter trays like a hawk.

This review is for the Lavender - Large 1/4 Ounce Packet - 7,000 Flower Seeds for Planting - Lavandula angustifolia.Super excited to have these seeds! I love lavender and mint, I used to have a whole big bed of mint that somehow seeded naturally and I helped it after that. Imagine how happy I was to recently find out all the things that lavender and mint naturally repel! All kinds of bugs while attracting the good ones, and repelling deer! We have a lot of deer for being in the city up here as there's a huge metro parks system, they're so bad up here they have to do a culling every year! Down home out in the country we had tons of deer and I always wondered why they didn't ever seem to come into my yard. I figured it was because of the dogs, now I know it had to do with the mint too!I like the deer, don't have anything against them, they're tasty sitting on my plate too LOL. But the deer up here aren't afraid of people, they cause a lot of car wrecks, they rampage flower beds/gardens... I have plans to put in a large raised bed vege garden and I don't intend to be feeding the deer out of it!So I plan not only nice tall fencing but to surround it with beds of lavender and mint! And one of the best things about them is they're periennials and they spread nicely!Of course I haven't planted them yet as it's winter in our northern state, but if there's any problems with them germinating I'll update my review. This is a good amount of seeds to get started with, I'll probably need more though. They come in a resealable bag and the company guarantees them to grow or your money back! Oh and this is english lavender too, you can dry, use it to cook/make tea with, make soap, sachets to put in your drawers to keep clothes smelling fresh...Regular price $ 5.99 per the listing for 1/4 of an ounce/7,000 seeds. I haven't priced others but seems ok, but as I always say watch for a sale/coupon, browse listings...As always I only do honest reviews and update if needed. I hope this helps you make the best choices how to spend your $.
