The block itself sounds as expected, but the mounting attachment is the worst I've ever encountered, can't seem to get a proper grip of the rod no matter how I place the washers, the whole thing is loose and defeats the point of getting this bundle. Better stick with a tried and tested rod and clamp and get a block separately.

This is just a black version of the standard medium block. I like the stealth black but not the red logo. That’s just preference. The tone is outstanding. I was worried the pitch wouldn’t be low enough but it blends well on my kit and is pronounced without being obnoxiously loud. The positioning is versatile and this block will last forever. I highly recommend this medium block as I’ve found the tone to be very versatile.

I’m using this with hot rod sticks and a few other pieces of Latin percussion by various makers. This is definitely one of my faves. Good tone without too much fuss about where to strike. Solid construction. Loud but not too loud. Pleasant tone (similar to but more rounded than a cow bell. More tonal than a wood block. So between a cow bell and a wood block sound.)

Wow! This is an incredible deal. No joke. Extremely durable, high volume black block that comes with a legit mounting bracket. I bought a wooden block and mount about 20 years ago and this one rocks it out of the water in every way.

My old wooden block was all beat to heck... this unit sounds very close to old wooden one... very sturdy... I love the enclosed hookup hardware... I mounted in back of my Congas on the same stand....

Latin Percussion are THE folks to go to if you want to flesh out your rhythm section. I was already the proud owner of their Black Beauty cowbell and Vibraslap (the most fun-to-play percussion known to man) before ordering one of these lovely things. As described, it sounds just like a melodious block of wood, only indestructible and you can mount it anywhere (hi-hat stand, tom rack, kitchen sink, chandelier...). They also have a handful of pitches to choose from; simply go to their website and listen to the demonstrations to find which one suits you best (or maybe you'll decide you need them all). I was torn between this one and the 1207 (the red one). They sounded almost if not exactly the same to me on their website, but I ultimately chose this one because it clashes less with my set's panache (thus I suppose the "stealth" label). To wrap up: Step 1: buy the block. Step 2: mount the black. Step 3. have a massive monster mamajam (brownie points if you get the reference).
