It was a nice idea at least, having a combo lock for the thermostats in our building instead of a key which will almost always get lost. Unfortunately the lock on this box is too flimsy and mechanically loose to keep the box secured. All you have to do is turn the lock just a little bit harder and it pops right open. It would take someone less than 3 seconds to figure this out. Unfortunately it cannot do the job it was designed for.

Running a bnb, we were having guests crank the A/C all the way down to 65 and it was killing us in bills. Now I can set the temp to something reasonable and most of the guests are fine with it. Hoping it will help keep the very old HVAC unit from dying sooner than I can afford a new one. The lock works pretty good, only thing is you really have to make sure it's latched shut or it can be wiggled open. Otherwise it fit around the thermostat fine and was easy to install.

I got this lockbox for the thermostat in the bonus room to make sure the kids couldn't adjust the temperature. They're constantly too hot or too cold and crank the air/heat up and down multiple times a day (if they can get away with it). The locking mechanism isn't the easiest to use and the quality of the box could be better, but it works for my current needs.
