Pros: Easy, ink disappears on its ownCons: lettering is small, ok for older littles, but younger may have a hard time controlling their pen, cardboard pages dent a line when littles press with firmness, ink disappears sometimes before they can admire their work if the write slowlyNice to keep little busy.

The books are great and my 5 year old really likes practicing with them. Just wish the pen with the fading ink showed up a little better. Sometimes the fading ink shows up perfectly and other times it doesn't show at all.

My grand daughter was having issues with writing (too young to test for dyslexia as she is only 5). I purchased this set for her to practice and she LOVED it. We "play" school and she keeps doing it over and over while having fun! I love that the ink disappears and we can continue to use it. Don't hesitate buy it and you will love it too!

The pens don’t work

Idk how people have any bad reviews. The letters are the size you’d write in the real world. The indents shouldn’t be so deep they don’t have to try. They assist, they don’t completely do the work for them, as it should be…It’s 10 bucks. Come on. The books themselves aren’t massive. They’re a great size for traveling and throwing in a kids backpack. It has 10 pens and tons of ink. And they work fine for a kid. For 10 bucks there are tons of pages and tons of ink. Why would they be anything but plastic. Just be realistic, be somewhat gentle. And even if you screw up you have extras. Again, for the price, it’s an insane deal.Best part; the math. My son is stubborn, he doesn’t want me to force knowledge down his throat. He wants to do things on his own and these books are the middle ground. This is the first time he’s clicked with addition and subtraction. He gets to write out the numbers in a fun way. And lo and behold, I grabbed some items and as he’s saying math equations out loud while he draws, it clicked. So he reads and writes the numbers out loud and then we play around with the math in a physical setting at the same time. What it’s doing is not only building muscle memory, it’s building a subconscious building block. They’re writing and saying math out loud, it’s being enforced in their heads. Mix it with some games or dialog and it really is quite amazing. He’s always been good with knowing his letters but his penmanship has gotten much better. So all in all. For 10 dollars this helped my kid more than almost anything else in this area. It’s a no brainer. And guess what? It’s Amazon. If your kid doesn’t like it or it’s not for you… Go to kohls and return it and get your precious 10 dollars back. lol. People these days…It’s worth it, don’t let some of these negative Nancy in the records sway you. If 10 dollars makes your child’s brain click: that’s an invaluable investment. As stated above, a no brainer. Do a page a day, give a carrot, and take the iPad away for a few minutes each day. Great freaking idea. Hope it works for you too!

These books are okay. However they are small, NOT large. I wouldn’t advise buying these for a classroom. The books are made out of a thin cardboard and would not hold up very well with multiple students. These would be good for using at home. The pictures and lettering are easy to read. I feel based on the size of these books the cost should be a little bit lower.
