CFCT has created a replacement spool that is specifically designed to replace Beaver Dam spools, both with the bottom nut and side set screw. Our new spool has the features to make your tip up catch more fish and work better. It has a large arbor, designed to hold 50-60 feet of regular non-coated tip up line instead of 50 yards. It has a built-in handle eliminating the need for add on handles or tools. Finally, it has an arbor knot hole which the arbor knot can be tied through, eliminating the need for tape and prevents line slippage on the spool. This spool should replace any spool with a 1/8” drive shaft and removable bottom threaded nut. Visit CFCTackle.com for more details.

I like that I could set it up according to the written instructions, but it is too thick inside and the lines come out, it doesn’t stay on the spool

Great add on to make using tip-ups just that much easier, especially using the built in handle when winding in the line to move holes or to pack up for the day. The large arbor reduces the amount of line needed on the spool, but still allows an easier friction free pull out when a fish takes the bait. All my tip-ups now have these great aftermarket spools.

Works great! Easy to replace the old spool and more durable than I expected. Seems to be very well made! 5 stars!

Allows improved line management with easier runoff and faster retrieval of line. The capacity of the spool is ideal for typical ice fishing conditions. I don’t know why all tip up spools are not of this design.

I like beaver dam tip ups, but I don't like the lack of a handle on the spool. The handle on this spool works well, and I can get my line back in the water faster and my hands stay warmer. I also like the larger arbor. I fish 35 feet or less with my tip ups, so I don't need to put on 100 feet of line. The line just gets all tangled --either with another tip up below the ice or on the ice after bringing in a fish. I tested the speed of line feed/release with a 1/2 ounce drop shot and the spool fed line faster than beaver dams spool which to me means less chance a fish will feel anything when taking my bait.

Allows Beaver Dam tip up line retraction to be done with Mittens on. Easy to install. Great product.
