The clip is a little flimsy, doesn't take much to knock it off. I used 2 sided tape to attach it. The light works well specially the soft light.

The light is ok and does what it’s supposed to do if you keep your laptop in same location. If you move laptop and want to close screen, the clip will have to be removed and it’s more of a nuisance. If you don’t, you can damage the laptop, or crack the screen. Also, the wire is very long. This is also annoying if you turn on or off or change light temperatures since it’s either dangling in front of screen, or you have to search for where it hangs in the back.A big improvement would be to either double tape it to back of laptop screen so you can close laptop without damage, and maybe also place on/off and light switches on light at itself rather than it dangling from a wire.

I use this on my external monitor to light up my keyboard and desktop area when I am working at night in the bedroom. This allows me to limit the light so my wife can sleep. The angle of the light bar is adjustable. The mounting clip is only for a monitor that is no more than 0.4 inches thick per the instructions. It comes with a drawstring soft cloth bag to store it in and instructions written in English. It has a plastic body and seems well-built for its purpose, but I would not expect it to withstand carrying around in a backpack unless it is packed with some additional padding. The cable length is sufficient for my needs as I have USB charging ports under the monitor that I plug into but a longer cable could make it more versatile. All in all a good buy for the price.

I've been writing software for over 40 years, so I have some monitor time in. Having a task / ambient light on the monitor helps tons with eye strain, fatigue, straining one's neck, and so forth. We all think of the hackers on the movies with all the lights off and their hoodie up hunched over their monitor. All that leads to is neck ache, back ache, and eye strain. With ambient task / lighting properly done, your eyes can see more than just the glow from the monitor. They see what's around the monitor as well, leading to less strain. The monitor as the sole source of light is akin to staring into a flashlight in a dark room. Don't do it.On my full size monitors I use ambient / task lighting, and was excited to find this one available for my laptop. The lamp arrives in an easy-to-unpack box with instructions, and in a nice drawstring bag that can be used to transport the lamp in one's backpack or computer bag.The clip is strong enough to grab both my laptop's and tablet's screen edge and stay how I adjust it. You want this light to shine almost parallel to the screen, not at it, and it's easy to do with this clip and the up-down hinged adjustment. It can be powered by the computers USB port (USB A port, so you need an adapter if all you have is C) so no extra power source needed. It comes with an appropriately sized cord for plugging into one of the ports - it's neither too long nor too short - and has the light controls on the cord. The controls are: power on/off, brightness up/down, and color temperature. The LED lighting is great. There are 10 brightness levels, enough to match almost any room lighting, and 3 color levels I would describe as "Daylight", "Mixed", and "Soft White". I like to use the daylight during the day and the soft white in the evening to reduce the "blue light effect" that can keep me awake. This light bar provides lighting easily as good as my full sized monitor lighting that cost much more. For the price point, this light is a bargain. That said, I would be willing to pay double the current price if the manufacturer made a few changes.1) The part of the power cord that goes from the switch to the light is made of thinner wire which probably won't be as durable over the long term. I would like them to beef up the wire.2) The LED lamp itself is made of plastic which is fairly durable, but I would prefer a more durable plastic for throwing in the bag with my computer. I'm sure this will hold up, but I like knock-around mobile items that I can toss in a bag and go. I think this one will be fine placed in the padded compartment with the laptop, though. So if they come out with a "road warrior" version at even 2x the price, I'll upgrade to that. But aside from those two small improvements, this light works great and makes screen time less physically stressful.

This gives fantastic light to the keyboard with no glare to the screen. The problem is that it comes off the monitor with only a slight bump. On a Dell laptop the rear tab of the light will not grip the monitor well enough to hold it securely.
