Lamson has raised the bar on this series with innovative thinking, new improvements, and new materials. They focused on retrieve rate per ounce which is the best possible scenario for the perfect lightweight reel. The Litespeed Marine series is equipped with a hybrid drag system similar to the Cobalt reel's drag, it provides a fixed spindle, large heat wicking conical surfaces, and click stop drag knob. The LS Marine reel incorporates close tolerance composite bearings, and comes equipped with the same linear spring set found on the Litespeed F, optimized for each reel size. Like the Cobalt reel, it holds an IPX8 waterproof rating to 100 ft. The LS Marine frame and spool share the same open structure as the Litespeed F, with emphasis on greater stiffness and stability.

Reel drag completely broken and the reel now just free spools. Now will have to send it back for repair at my expense. I have bought a second one from a local dealer and the drag of this reel is binding at minimum setting and squeaks. I will not be surprised if Lamson doesn't issue a recall soon. Trust me, stay away until Lamson sorts this out.
