I purchased this after the let down of not being able to use the new lampshade on the lamp I ordered. It took me a minute to realize what was going on-as to why the lampshade wouldn’t work with the lamp-but once I did recognize the issue Amazon helped me find the solution easily. I ordered more stuff so that this item could be sent overnight. Once it came I eagerly attached it to the lightbulb and put the lampshade on it-stood back and switched it on for the first time and loved it! I was excited that the lampshade and lamp base looked good together. The adapter was easy to attach and it fit tightly on the lightbulb and is easy to straighten out.

Previous reviews mentioned table lamps. I had an old floor lamp that needed a new shade but didn't have a typical harp. This was the perfect solution to replacing with a shade that was not a clip-on. I did take the advice of others and used an LED lightbulb.

I have mine on a 60w LED bulb. (a bulb that says it's the "equivalent" of a 60w incandescent). It has been on there (with the bulb ON) for hours and hours and it just fine. it's WARM but not hot.The bulb I'm using has been on for hours. If I take off the shade and put my hand on the bulb...it is very warm...but not "hot". So I know it won't burn the shade holder. I personally would NOT use this on an INCANDESCENT bulb. Those get WAY too hot I'd think. JUST LEDs in my opinion.
