I picked this up as a huge upgrade for one of my newest hobbies, indoor mycology. I've always been a wild mushroom hunter, but I've never taken that "final step" into growing my own, due to the difficulty and complexity. This is a big part of my voyage into growing my own mushrooms, and gives a HUGE boost over my "still air box" which, while reasonably effective, isn't NEARLY as convenient as the laminar flow hood. This is so much easier to use as I can work without my hands in a box.It comes with a filter which is replaceable, but herein lies the problem I have with this LFH. It states it uses an "H12 filter", but H12 is a rating and not a "standard size" like one would hope. If you look for "H12 filters", what you will find will NOT fit this. So I went looking. I checked their Amazon store, nothing. I put the size in inches into Amazon's search (16.15" x1.5" x12.3") and found nothing. I put the size in mm and got the same result.Point blank, this is utterly useless if you can't replace the filter in it. There should be NO CHALLENGE to finding replacement filters. First and foremost, I should be able to go to the "MOFOGDR" store and find it immediately. I can't. "MOFOGDR" should at least give a replacement filter Amazon number (B0xxxxxxx), but nothing. If they want people to buy this, replacement filters cannot be and should not be hard to find. The filters should be immediately findable. I spent half an hour scouring Amazon for an applicable replacement filter. I STILL haven't found a suitable replacement filter.I like the flow hood, it's nicely made and works well. But with no replacement filters available and the manufacturer not grasping that replacement filters must be available RIGHT NOW and EASY TO FIND to entice people to buy this, it's a tough recommendation. Before you buy this, be sure the manufacturer has made replacement filters available. A hint would be if you can't find replacement filters that you're sure will work in less than 30 seconds, it's not worth the time or effort and you probably aren't GOING to find them. I spent 30 minutes and still have no idea what filter this actually takes. So many inches by so many inches, H12 nothing number, that's nice. Kind of need an actual part number. 3 stars until the manufacturer comes to a basic understanding that these need readily available replacement filters that shouldn't be hard to figure out or find. Right now, it isn't even possible. 3 stars, and if they get the "filter thing" figured out, I may come back and raise the score.
