Performance-tested, this is the best Flow Hood on the market! Lightweight at 7.8 pounds and made of metal so it can be cleaned with sterilizing agents such as alcohol or acetone. Wooden units CANNOT be properly cleaned. We have an optional hard cover that doubles as an elevated work surface. The cover protects the delicate filter when not in use or for when you need to break down your lab and store it. Our hoods also feature removable filter retainers allow the user easy access to the inside of the hood for cleaning and replacing the filters when needed. Ideal uses are grain to grain transfers, pouring agar plates, agar transfers, swabs starting and liquid culture. This is a MUST HAVE if you are going to attempt to grow mushrooms in any volume or work with your own agar cultures or make your own liquid cultures. Also, a flow hood will let you actually clone mushrooms.

There are massive areas for air to escape outside the filter, which leads to very poor performance. Just breathing into the stream of air will contaminate what you are working on

Yep, can confirm it works. Did transfers a few days ago and have few tams compared to old SAB. Get the lid- it helps.

Mycology-supply is in the business of selling boxes, not laminar flow hoods. It comes with a computer fan and $35 for a pack of 2 filters. Nowhere near enough flow and when you call them and tell them this isn't laminar flow, they tell you it is and will not take the return so your out the money. I posted my struggle on Reddit and ran into another individual having the exact same problems. Save yourself the headache and the money and find someone that will sell you a flow hood. I assure you, you don't want this box.

Fake Hepa Filter not even a real hepa filter in here all agar and liquid culture contaminated after using this unit brand new out the box! NOT WORTH $400 I’d pay $200 at most the fan barely even blows

I'm a microbiologist as well as a mycologist and I use this flow Hood 8 hours a day in my lab. It is a work horse and has yet to let me down. Only negative thing I can say is one of the four rubber feet fell off in shipping.(easy fix) other than that everything works great. I recommend this flow box. -jason D.
