This ladder hook set allows you to use your extension ladder in different ways and offers more stability for your ladder.You can hook the ladder over the crest of your high-pitched roof. (It could pop off a low-pitched roof because it won't grab the other side deep enough, but you wouldn't need a ladder on that kind of roof.) The kit comes with wheels to help you roll the ladder up the roof.I used it to reach the roof over my gutters. The ladder is much more stable this way than attempting to just lean it against the gutters.Assembly was easy. The kit includes nylon bushing lock nuts to assure that critical connections don't come apart. The brackets attach to the top 2 ladder rungs. The protruding U-bolts could be dangerous, but the instructions suggest that you cut them if they protrude too far. When installed, the rungs at the top of the ladder will be a few inches narrower.If you want to leave the brackets on the ladder they will get in the way of closing it all the way... only an issue if you need the space.

The instructions are pretty good on putting this together. It does seem complicated just looking at the parts but once you get started it makes sense. It is well made and sturdy and very well designed. The U-bolts are to be placed around the ladder rungs and tightened down. It seems one review didn't understand why they were part of the unit. The wheels need to be opposite of the hooks. You roll it up the roof on the wheels and then flip it over at the top to allow the hook to hold the other side of the roof. Flip it back over to move or remove from the roof. Nice design and good quality. I feel a lot safer with this on my ladder.

These things are heavy duty and we've used them a couple times in the two months since we've had them. One time was when my husband needed to replace some rot beneath a second story window and all we had below him were pavers. I felt a lot better having these to hook over the window.We also have a flat roofed area on our pool screen that is scary to climb up on from a ladder. With these hooks, it just seems less sketchy. They weigh quite a bit, so that definitely helps with the stability.They're pretty easy to install and I think they're a good value for the money. If you don't like how ladders just rest up against a surface and can use these to hook onto the edge, I recommend getting them. I feel a lot better with them in those situations.I've included the instructions in case you lose yours or want to check them out before purchasing.

We have an extremely steep roof that is difficult to navigate. Even worse the shingles are reaching the end of their lifespan so they like to release asphalt pebbles when attempting to grip with shoes. Enter this ladder roof hook as an awesome upgrade to your latter system for safety. The premise of this wonderful invention is that you flip the ladder over so that the wheels are side down and push the ladder onto the roof until it is above the ridge cap. You then flip it over and the hooks now go over the ridge cap providing a secure way to use the ladder rungs to ascend the roof. I loved everything about this kit as it was easy to install and worked perfectly. My only small beef is the wheels are just a bit too small. If they were just a little bit larger they would have been perfect as they would roll a little more freely on the roof. I may eventually look at upgrading them but for now definitely a 4/5 star worthy product.
