The tradition of string making dates back to the 1640s in Salle, Italy, where the Mari family supplied gut strings to the famous violin builders of Cremona. In 1913, brothers Olinto & Emilio Mari arrived in New York bringing their family craft to the States. La Bella Banjo Guitar strings are made with silver-plated copper wire, hand-wound over a middle layer of pure Italian silk filament on an inner steel core. This design is preferred by finger-style guitarists for their soft touch and sweet tone, and make them also ideal for the Banjo Guitar.

Excellent strings though very pricey. I would drop one star for price but I don't know where else a 6 string silk set is available strictly for banjo. Strings are very long and should fit on most any full scale banjo. I use LaBella's tape wound strings on my 7 string and feel confident that these strings will hold the same construction quality.
