We wanted to replace our 20 year old Kwikset Montara front door lock set because it was looking a bit worn. The new one fit exactly to the existing holes, and works great. We would recommend this Kwikset lock set to anyone looking for a quality product that will last for at least 20 years.

Great lock set with a real nice finish. Works great and I like the deal where you can change the key yourself and match all the keys. I now have one key for the front, the back, and even my garage.

Replaced a very worn out lockset of 20+ years. Installation is more about skills than the product itself. Instructions are decent and helpful. All the components fit into the existing hole patterns. Skill aspect is to read and understand the instructions, expect tweaks to make it all work and it should go well.

Needed to replace a 15 year old and poor deadbolt and knob. I was surprised how sturdy and nice looking this is for the price vs. some other brands. It was easy to install and looks fantastic. Very pleased. Will see over time how the finish holds up.

Our first one worked for two months until it completely broke and we had to break into our house to disassemble the lock from the inside. Then had to cut it out of the door because of how badly it was jammed up.Got a replacement and the second one is jiggly and not seating well at all and seems cheap quality. Unsure why these are both so poorly made that they aren’t working

Beautiful handle set! Well made, with a beautiful finish. I got the oil rubbed bronze which is very rich and looks much more expensive than it was. The install was easy ( mine was a direct replacement ) and done quickly by my hubby and myself. There are two locks with two separate keys making it nice and secure as well. Very happy, and highly recommend!

My front door handle broke and I had to enter through a different door. I wanted the same style and color. This one was almost exactly the same decorative shape and was the same color. It was a good price as well. My son put it on for me when it arrived. It was easy to install and works really well. Turns out it had 3 different screw holes usable to attach the extended portion of the door lock. One of those holes matched up perfectly with the existing hole used by the broken handle, so it fit perfectly and we didn't have to drill a new hole. And because it was the same brand, my son was able to rekey the lock so I could use the same key I have been using. I am very happy with this purchase.

This lock only fits doors thickness 44mm-57mm. Most Australian entry doors are 35-40mm so it won't fit out of the box.This is why the other review saying the lock is "sticky". The turning mechanism between exterior and interior inside the lock compressed and grinding each other when you install this on a 40mm door.If you really like this lock you can modify it to fit a 40mm door. (NOT 35mm)- Use a metal file/grinder to sand away 4-5mm of the lock turning pin- Cut/grind around 5mm away from the 2 screws that attach the exterior and interior lock together (Using whatever saw suitable). You can try to find and buy shorter screws from the shops but cutting it is fine for me.Don't bother if you have a 35mm door. There are other parts in the way and it's impossible to modify that far.

Replaced the clunky old skeleton key and upper latch that uses a finger pull to close the door. Nice improvement.

I bought one of these for the front door and six knob type ones for the other exterior doors. The knob type ones were a breeze to install and I left glowing review for them on here. This handle set is all the same great quality as the knob sets, but more difficult to install. The screws and bolts all came in number coded packages, but oddly enough, the instructions did not properly refer to which package which screws/bolts are in. Fortunately, I've installed lots of door hardware, so was able to figure it out. My challenge came with the handle bottom installation. I used the template carefully - measure twice or thrice and drill once! I'm confident I got the hole drilled true to the template, but it didn't line up with the bolt hole in the handle. I was able to enlarge the drill hole and get the bolt lined up and the cap will still cover the bigger hole. But then the bolt stripped when I screwed it into the handle bottom. Maybe I over-torqued it, but I didn't go after it all that hard. I went to the hardware store to get a replacement bolt and they couldn't find (out of massive selection of bolts) a bolt that was the same as the one that came with this one. I was able to rig it up for now, but may end up having to use a larger machine screw to get it tightened up. Anyway, I would still recommend this set, just be super careful installing the lower handle bolt!
