I needed some black couplings and these are indeed black couplings. The finish on these parts is really nice, like a black eggshell, thick enough but not so thick that there are any clumps or problems with threads. Smooth and inky black, no nicks, no bare metal inside or out.I wish the couplings were available by themselves, tho.

Was upset we had to buy extra parts to put the ceiling fan together with. Should have been included with the fan. Parts worked. Fan is up and functional.
