So, as a barcode reader, this (KUIIYER Bluetooth Barcode Scanner, Wireless 2D QR 1D) works perfectly well. It can do all of the standard things you would expect, and has a screen to show you what you've scanned (especially useful, if you are doing an inventory mode -- it's got a count and the barcode values, so you don't end up having to restart when you aren't sure if you missed something.) You can connect it multiple ways (Bluetooth and 802.11 are obvious, but people underestimate the USB connection method -- great for when things are going past a fixed spot on a conveyer belt or something similar.) (Sure; an old-school USB cable (like you used to use for printers, USB-B, to be specific) is kind of an odd choice... but it works, and it's less fragile than some of the newer ones, if you are in a fairly rough environment, like I am. And no one will 'borrow' it to charge their phone.)So why only 4 stars, not 5? Simple; you still program it with QR codes. That's not unusual, but they added a pretty unnecessary AI voice (that can be hard to understand, especially in a loud environment -- you can use one of the QR codes in the instructions to deactivate it), but didn't give it any way to program it directly from the device -- an up/down button added to it would make it FAR easier to configure to different uses, not to mention clearing the memory, changing settings, etc.I was testing this to see what unit I'd recommend for where I work -- I like this one, and suggested it for situations where it was pretty much to be setup one way and stay that way, but I suggested a similar unit (but with on-device menu options, and slightly more expensive) for broader use -- the QR codes WILL get lost/illegible/etc., but on-screen menus are always right there.Again -- it's a perfectly good scanner; if it fits your use case, it's fairly inexpensive, and easy to use. I would just have preferred if they ditched the 'AI Voice' and replaced it with some on-device menu options.

Works great! I got this because I found an app (Libib) where I can upload all my books to keep track of them. So I got this scanner to make the process easier and now I feel like a real librarian. The only thing I don't love about the scanner is that there is no on/off button, it just turns on when you click the scanner and then it goes off after some time of not using it. I also don't know if there is a mute button so that I can turn off the voice. But anyway, it's really nice and it works great so I'm definitely keeping it around.

I've never owned a barcode scanner before, but I'm working on organizing my home business inventory. The first step was convincing my spouse to design a database, create a QR code generator, and get a sticker printer—success! However, I hate working on my phone and wanted the data to open on my computer screen when scanning an item. This Bluetooth handheld scanner appears to be the perfect solution. It plays nicely with my Mac, and so far, my only complaint is the voice—it’s loud! I thought it would be helpful, but it turned out to be more annoying than useful.

This works very well with both barcodes and QR codes. The receiver is recognized instantly by the units I'm working with. The ONLY issue I have with this scanner is that the default voice setting speaks constantly about one thing or another. This will quickly drive you, and even more so anyone around you, crazy. The only way to turn it off is with the QR setting codes in the manual so if that is lost you'll have a problem. So far I haven't found a PDF version so I have taken a picture of them but they don't seem to work on the phone screen. Eventually I will just scan the booklet. If this was available to download that would resolve the only issue I have with the scanner for my use case.

Turn on the device by pressing the trigger, and it pairs with my computer via Bluetooth within seconds.Just like any other scanner I have, it automatically adds Enter after each scan.In Excel or Notepad, this means it goes to the next line / row. What could be any easier than that?It is normal to program a scanner, including this one, via a QR code. Each bluetooth scanner I have, comes with a booklet of QR code for programming. That's why I keep the scanner, the programming booklet, the accessories in the original box.I put the scanner back in the box after each use.Why one has to complain about scanning programming QR code? I am scratching my head.Very expensive fancy barcode scanners we use at the hospital also scan QR codes to program them.Connectivity options:If the computer does not have a Bluetooth, the barcode scanner can work via wireless.A small wireless receiver is included in the box.Plug in the receiver and turn on the scanner, it will pair automatically.Scanner also comes with USB-B to USB-A cable. The B plugs into the bottom of the scanner and the USB-A goes to the computer. Why would anyone use a wired connection? This wired option probably will never be used by anyone.I have a wired barcode scanner but I have no need to use it ever again. That's it for this review.I found no flaw or shortcoming of this scanner. It works fine and easy to use.Otherwise, press and hold for 7 seconds the red button on top to go to pairing mode.
