Sourdough starter and dough is notoriously sticky and it's hard to avoid globs of it ending up in unexpected places as you work with it — not to mention what happens to the bowl or surface where you do the stretch-and-fold stages. This little scrubber is brilliant for cleaning up afterwards. When I'm first working with the dough by hand, I clean up my hands with this scrubber. With my stretch-and-fold bowl (a large pyrex thing), I fill the used bowl with water, wait 24 hours, and then just scrub away any remaining dough with this scrubber. It has the remarkable property that, unlike every other sort of scrubber, the dough / starter doesn't stick to it! So the scrubber itself comes out clean and ready for the next use.

I got this product to help decrease our usage of regular sponges. For gentle clean ups the sponge is perfect. I love using it on the daily and is very durable, and super easy to clean. The silicone sponge is bendy and can fold in half or squish into corners for tough to reach areas, it can also roll up allowing it to fit into much smaller holes. For tougher messes or hard food residue, this will not be of use. But that's what I use my regular sponges for, this helps the life of the regular sponge, as I won't be used as often so it won't break down as fast, it also will have the opportunity to fully dry out in-between uses so that nasty sponge mildew smell never occurs.Important note, this product works great, but if you dexterity issues this may not be for you, it's not super sturdy and I can image it can become pretty slippery and hard to hold. This is perfect and you'll only ever need one! Definitely recommend!

Been using this since June 2021 about 2–3 times weekly for cleaning my glass cup and stainless steel tumbler (usually filled with coffee with milk) at work. The scrubber cleans well and is still in great condition.I have another one at home and it did the job too. I had used a non-stick pot to store water in a pressure cooker to steam fish and it retained a fishy odor when I tried cleaning with just my hand and soap. One good scrub with the scrubber and my non-stick pot was stink-free!In response to other reviews:– Yes, the bristles are soft because they are silicone but they work just fine if you don't want to scratch whatever you're cleaning. Buy a suitable product to match the type of cleaning you have in mind.– Never found this slippery when wet but I only have soap on one side.

Great to use on non stick cookware. Easy to clean in dishwasher. Beats using sponge scourers

It's a bright cheery colour - and I like the way it feels in my hand. I hate doing dishes but this makes it less awful.

Me encanta pero es para trastes que están sucios de un poco rato par acá, no arranca grasa ni quita manchas dificiles.

This is an awful scrubber. Has absolutely zero scrubbing power, even with all the might I can muster. I loved the idea of having less waste but this is just not something I can recommend.

The most useful function, but not what I purchased it for is probably the lint removal feature of it and it works decently well for fur as well.As a sponge, it's only alright. While it's durable and great as you can use it on non-stick pans. I have a few non-sticks that are getting on in age and sometimes does take some elbow grease to get everything out of it. While overall this is great if you're immediately cleaning after using so nothing gets too set in on the pot/pans, if you have to use force, the loose 'bristles' I'll call them make it verify difficult to get them to individual scrub, so it ends up you're mostly just applying pressure THROUGH the sponge and using your thumb as the rigid surface.I wouldn't call them useless by any stretch, but at the same time, I still occasionally need a conventional sponge.

Kuhn-Rikon promotes their silicone scrubber for washing dishes like a sponge without harboring bacteria. Honestly, I think it's more difficult to grip than a sponge and doesn't have enough contact with surfaces. It isn't abrasive enough to scrub pots or crusty dishes. Fortunately, I didn't buy the silicone scrubber for those purposes. I bought it to scrub vegetables without shredding their skins. It's soft but does a better job than my bare hands. The flexibility that would annoy me if I tried to wash dishes with it is perfect for wrapping around veggies. And the scrubber dries quickly and easily and without a burgeoning bacteria colony.Sur la Table used to sell these, but now their silicone scrubbers are stiffer, bigger, with a more abrasive surface on one side. That might be better for dishes, but scrubbers like this one are better for vegetables or anything delicate. The scrubber is 5" x 3.25" x 0.5" at the widest points and has a loop at one corner for hanging. It boasts 5,000 silicone bristles (I didn't count them). You may or may not like the scrubber for washing dishes. It lathers fine but doesn't hold the soap for long. I find it a bit slippery, but I always wear gloves when washing dishes. I think it's the only way to go for veggies with soft skins though. And it makes a great fidget toy –tactile without being prickly.

Update after significant use - after weeks of real use my bubble has burst. It's not as great as I thought. To the point where doing dishes was even less desirable. I had to go back to a regular sponge. Particular I noticed that this version doesn't clean biofilm, that clear slime on pet bowls. The bowl looked clean but when I touched it, no way. I originally thought these were great and bought more as gifts. Missed my return window so not sure what to do with them now. Don't even think they could clean the tub.Originsl - Decided to get one to try before getting as gifts. Just used for the first time to wash 3 cereal bowls, coffee mug, some cooking utensils and a smsll, non-stick saute pan. I used Method dish soap. 1 pump of soap and it lathered fine, washed everything nice including the pan and coffee stains. It will take a bit of getting use to holding compared to a regular sponge. I'm excited to be able to use this from now on. Even a brand new sponge can skeeve me after a couple uses. No issues with this version.Nothing had stuck on debris which is not unusual for me. I typically soak any pot with stuck on. I no longer use cooking spray, just olive oil, so my new pans clean very easy.

Ok, I'm a serial sponge hater.. I hate the smell, I hate the feel, I just hate kitchen sponges. No matter how often I clean them, I just can't help but think they are germ infested each time I use one. I put them in the dishwasher, in the microwave, and replace often! Still I can't stand them. I found these on a Buzzfeed article and decided to give them a go. The one minus is the little chain that is attached, great for hanging, but rusts easily and is just as easy to remove. Now I love this, easy to clean, doesn't smell, and doesn't make my skin crawl. Now if you have a tough job, this will not perform a heavy duty scrub, but nor does a sponge. I still have a bristle scrub brush for tough jobs, but I love my Silicone Scrubber!
