This is the second of third that I purchased for a homemade router table. I accidentally drop the first one and it must have hit the concrete look just right. It broke into two big pieces. Arrrrgh! Otherwise a good product.

The router plate is thick, sturdy and works well. I'm only giving it 4 stars because two of the corners have different radius. I noticed some people mentioned the fit was off. I created a template on my CNC and the corners that are caddy corner from each other(top left , bottom) are a slightly different radius. If I flip my template the radius difference stays with those two corners so I know it's not my template. I made a new template with two corners with a .75"(19.05mm) radius and two with a .728"(18.5mm) radius and it fits perfect. Not a huge difference but you definitely notice the opening having a different gap on those two corners. Yes, I know I have OCD. Once I routed with the template it looks perfect, no gap.If you just use a 1.5" forstner bit on all corners it will work and be fine for most.

I have been using these router plates for a couple of years, and like them a lot. This one (photo) lives in my table saw's extension wing full time. The surface is slick and durable, cleans up easily if it gets gummy, most importantly it STAYS FLAT. I used four flat head machine bolts to secure it (predrilled holes, thanks Kreg!) And it does not move. Like not at all :)It has a Bosch fixed base router hanging from it, and has not sagged (at least, not that I can tell) after two years. It comes with a couple of center rings, and a "spanner" to remove and install them. It has holes for mounting the router base and a hole for access to the router's height adjustment. There is also a brass insert for a "starting pin" for when needed. To cut the pocket for the plate, I used a 1-1/2 router bit, which matched the corners exactly (see photo). Way easier than trying to match the radius any other way.Summary -- good solid product, Kreg has very good customer service, and nicely priced! Thanks for reading.

Nice, effective and inexpensive insert for a custom router table. Perfect starting point. Doesn't damage the wood pieces. Looks good. Also allows for additional plate inserts.

The combination of the JessEm table top, the Kreg insert, and the Bosch 1617 router seem to be made for each other. All fit together perfectly. The Kreg insert is solidly built and the Bosch 1617 router attached effortlessly. The insert with router fit the JessEm table insert perfectly as well.

I built a router table extension onto my table saw, but didn't have a mounting plate. I didn't want to hassle with building one, either. This plate solved this issue quite well.Quick breakdown on how I installed it: Plop plate on top of table (no holes at this point in table) and center/square plate to where I want it. Make a full outline with a pencil around the perimeter. Get the router out and set the foot plate on this plate, then adjust the depth of cut to just touch the table top (in other words, a straight-cut bit extended out the exact same amount as the thickness of this plate). Then, move the plate out of the way and freehand route the entirety of the plate outline, plus the interior of the area to the depth set. After this was done, I used a 6" hole saw to drill a big hole in the middle of the area for the router mount to fit through. Worked like a charm! Plate is flush and the mount is... mounted.I haven't actually routed anything on it yet due to laziness constraints, but playing around with the inserts and insert installer tool, I can see this will work quite well. Oh! Comes with what appears to be a solid brass starting pin.
