Your cart is empty.A Japanese deba knife is the tool of choice when filleting a fish. The thick spine and one-sided beveled edge make it easy to process a whole fish, from removing the head and cutting through bones, to slicing fillets. The high-carbon SK-5 steel used in this knife ensures the perfect balance between durability and its ability to hold a very sharp edge.

The knife is ground on one side only. I consider it a right handed knife. However, the handle is not D-shaped so can be used by both right and left handed. The top of the knife is a little rough - does not affect the function but I will probably smooth it out a little.

Great looking knife Out of the box, nice heavy thick knife with weight, great beginner knife and with the correct sharpening stone ,can be great for experienced users as well. There is little imperfections on the knife that doesn’t effect the quality , but I can see why it was 80 bucks. Overalll I would buy

The Kotobuki looks good and has a nice feel to it. It has a good weight, balance and arrived sharp out of the box. Only time and usage will tell how well the knife sharpens, performs and lasts. It arrived well packaged and I'm currently satisfied. No negatives sofar.
