About this item

  • Big blue LED digits

Our super slim series is probably one of our best seller. Its small and compact size makes it very easy to install at almost any location on the bike. The blue illuminated digits make the meter very attractive and easy to read at night. Our super slim temperature meter is equipped with a warning function to help you monitor the engine temperature. The meter will automatically flash if the temperature goes higher than 120 degree Celsius / 248 degree Fahrenheit.

This temp sensor is great for those that want to keep an eye on their true coolant temp. Some want to trust the dummy Guage, and this is not for you. I will be buying more for other vehicles.

Works as advertised. I wish it was more weather proof as it's installed on my tractor. So far, zero issues. It seems very accurate and has worked flawlessly.Four stars because I believe you'll ruin it if it gets a douse of rain.

Dimensions in description are wrong. This gauge is 2 3/16" long x 1 1/8" high x 3/8" thick. It will mount on my dash with little space requirements using the provided double sided tape. The gauge is pricey, looking at its size for a digital gauge - sure hope it's good quality and accurate. Also the sensor is 1/8" BSP which is a parallel thread. Proper way to install this is use existing BSP threaded hole or drill an 11/32" hole and tap a 1/8" BSP thread - which will require a special o-ring seal.I/8" MIP (taper) is close but has 27 threads per inch (tpi) whereas the BSP has 28 tpi. I wanted to install this in an existing 3/8"-18 NPT hole that my present factory temp sender was installed with. I bought a 3/8" MIP to 1/8" FIP brass adapter from Lowes and drilled out the 1/8" FIP with 11/32" drill bit, then tapped with 1/8" BSP. Fits perfectly.I am disappointed that for the price Koso does not include (or provide) the special o-ring sealing ring - which is an industry standard. I also would have liked the sensor longer as it may have trouble reaching down into the coolant with the adapter. I think best way will be to fill coolant then loosen the sensor to allow trapped air to bleed - possible with parallel thread. Air is not good for transferring heat.Found out the proper seals are near impossible to get and very expensive if you find them. Alternate method is to cut a 45 degree chamfer as a lead in to the BSP hole, deep enough that a small o-ring can be fitted over the sensor and buried into the chamfer.I will follow-up this review after I have it installed. If I could have given it a 31/2 star I would have.Edit 4/11/15: Doing the installation I am finding a major weakness in the wiring on this gauge. The wires are very fine gauge, maybe 28 to 32, and near impossible to strip the insulation from for splicing without damaging the copper strands. I had to cut the sensor extension to pass it through my truck's firewall and use additional wire to reach the sensor. The connectors provided by Koso are just cheap, off the shelf splicers that are large and bulky and not well suited to the gauges fine wires. I suggest trying to locate a wire stripper for gauges 22-32 and using heat shrink insulation to make this a professional installation.Because of Koso's sensor BSP thread (without seal) and lack of proper wire splices in the kit and the use of the very fine wire I have downgraded my star rating. Installation of this gauge is not for the non-mechanically inclined.

This has a great, clear readout (blue only), and is displayed in Fahrenheit degrees. The unit is only about an inch tall and two inches wide, and the wires come out of the right hand side, making it a touch difficult to mount (and very difficult to mount cleanly). Because the display is bright and digital, you will not have any trouble reading it wherever you place it, though. There was enough lead-wire from the sensor (which is included, though there really isn't confirmation of that in the description) to get through the engine bay, firewall, and dash of my old 4Runner. 8-10 feet, I suppose.Installation is pretty simple, as there are snap-together connectors for the sensor, sensor-wire, and display unit. You'll just need to establish a ground coming off the back of the display. The information seems to be accurate, and I'd highly recommend this over a more traditional analog gauge if you don't need it mounted in a pod.

I drilled into my cylinder head coolant passage to instal this on my vehicle and so far it works very well.Very straight forward installation process hook up wires which are fool proof since they have their own male/female connections then wire to ground and positive (12v) source.great product, great value.

Sort of wacky, but I use this for a 400 gallon fish tank in my basement - which is powered by 12v from solar - so it was the perfect find. Its calibrated to display accurate temperatures, has a bright LED display (as opposed to most LCD temp gauges). I got the 12v power gauge on my batteries, same great build quality.
