14Volts and 1Amp setting does this supply in. No Fan and shuts itself off. Now I have a paper weight

Electronics Hobbyist and this is our first bench power supply. Smelled a bit at first but is better after airing out. Works great. The Serial/USB interface is cool and there are lots of software options. Haven't done a whole lot to put it's through its paces but is jut fine so far.

Seems to work fine for me. I researched this quite a bit before purchasing, so the specs were good and price was great for an entry level power supply. How I use it: occasional benchtop supply, circuits, lasers, small motors. Usually 5v or 12v. Sometimes current limited mode for cleaning metal (tens of milliamps). The heaviest load I've ran is a UVC light bulb in current limiting mode.I always use over-current protection. 30v with 10 milliamps seems to work fine (but I don't know how fast it responds in terms of milliseconds). I usually trust the displayed voltage. My KD3005P was bought sometime between 2017 and 2019 (at a local store that no longer exists). If I get another one, it will have to be online. The Korad is remarkably adfordable. If I was using this professionally on expensive or critical hardware, I'd likely want something at a higher price point - I would never expect something at this price level to be anything like equipment 10x to 100x the price. Good power is expensive.

I do not want to go on a rant about this power supply. It simply does not provide the power when under load. The voltage sags and drops dramatically. If I set the output to 12.8V at 5 amps, I expect it to give me that voltage. What I get is 7.7V under load, and I get under voltage alarms from the devices I am testing. Even when I increase the voltage, it sags. No good to me. It is going back.

Been using this for years, I was just going to recommend it to a friend and decided to write a review. It just works. Leads aren't of best quality but hey, for this price what do you expect. Software works well, though keep in mind there are limitations in voltage steps, don't expect same precision as a $1000+ supply. For your everyday engineering bench, it is perfect.

Used as a testing power supply on an electronics bench, this unit with the constant current or constant voltage works really well. The control down to 1/100th of a Volt is accurate or at least matches the reading on my Fluke multi meter. I bought and returned a slightly less expensive model by a different maker but this unit is a keeper. The weight is substantial (a good sign!) compared to the first unit.

[Edit: dropping to one star after one week. The fan stopped working properly, now it starts buzzing at low current but doesn't run, it gradually starts turning as current increases, but not fast enough to cool, and still noisy. The current is very unreliable above 14V. It suddenly craters from ~350 mA to near zero, and then gradually recovers over about fifteen seconds. The plug connection at the back of the unit is flaky, if the plug gets wiggled, the unit kicks off and on.] Original post: It's a convenient size for me, doesn't take up too much space. Voltage reading is accurate but current is a few mA too low. I need an accurate reading for my application, there's nothing in the manual about adjusting it, unsolved problem at this point. Good feel to it, sturdy, build quality is good. So far it has survived my burn-in overnight, dropping voltage across a resistor, with voltage changed between ranges every so often. No heat, no glitches, solid performer so far.

Didn't purchase on amazon but good product. I found the serial port to be useful, and easy to connect to HMI.

Having worked with many analogue PSUs in the past I really wanted a digital one and KORAD had two awesome models: The "KD3005P" with the jog and the 4 memories and this one. But before I decided to make this order I read about this company's PSUs*. I also watched some video-reviews on YouTube.Almost everybody had some kind of issue with all pro KORAD models, which is kind of absurd. I wanted to examine one myself and the one with the less "problems" was this model "KD3005P" with the two push and turn buttons. Also I wanted a connection with my PC so I could have a log of my work with it.This model is really awesome! No complaints by me -whatsoever- . I'm very satisfied with it in many ways..It has a good programming inside which helps a technician (among others) a lot. This model has a three way use.First of all you can push the "Voltage button" and select each digit separately.Same with the "Current" button.Second, you can lock your adjustments so no accidental turning will increase or decrease any voltage /current setting.Attention! (The following will help a lot of users of "KD3005P" model):First testing: You will notice that you can place your desired voltage power but when trying to adjust the current the screen returns to "0000".The reason is because the PSU does not have any load so be aware that your current setting has been memorized by the unit but will not work until you put a load on it. The best way to test the unit is to connect a lamp (within 0-14V) on the leads.Another awesome feature is the USB connection to a PC. You'll get a software that can handle the unit completely. Plus it has an 'ON'/ 'OFF' feature. Simply use your keyboard to set the desired voltage /current and press "Enter".On the right of your software screen you will see two screens where you can monitor the voltage /current of your PSU.Last but not least the unit has LEDs in front that can show you when your settings are "locked", the Over Protection Current aka. OPC etc.For me it's a very helpful unit, and I'm very happy to have it on my bench.I totally recommend it!--*PSU = Power Supply

The Korad KD3005P is a bench power supply with a very small footprint. The controls are easy to use and simple to master, and the readouts are readily legible. Preliminary testing with digital multimeters and an oscilloscope line triggered prooved the product was whitin specs: accuracy of readouts, max and min of voltage and current, noise and ripple levels. The constant voltage, constant current and over current protection functions were tested for various values on a resistive load. The fan became louder with currents over 2A, but remained very low under 1A.This power supply is exactly what I needed for my bench!
