My cat must have had a bad experience being brushed in his past. He is terrified of the brush. I think he equates my Equigroomer with torture. He sheds. Horribly. I bought this in desperation to get the excess hair off of him but expected the worst. I was wrong. He loved his time being brushed by this. I got so many clumps of hair off of him that I was able to make a cat-hair toupee for his head. Grooming is no longer an exhausting torture session.I love how easy this brush it. How soft yet sturdy it feels. My cat likes the massage. This is a winning product all around.

This is an exact replacement for the one which I apparently lost while I was moving to another state. It’s always worked well for brushing my cats. It’s so much easier on their skin since it’s all silicone, and yet it does a great job removing loose fur. Size and grip are both great for me. I’d always recommend this brush.

Even after reading all the positive reviews, I was surprised by how well this brush worked. I used this brush on three different cats, all of them did not mind getting brushed with this brush. One cat has a long fine coat with no undercoat. With this cat, I have had no luck with other types of brushes when it comes to removing hair, but this works AMAZING with her. My only recommendation would be to use this brush outside because the cat hair tends to go flying (1/2 on the brush, 1/2 in the air). My other two cats are long/medium hair with fairly thick undercoats. Though this brush works. It has about the same effectiveness as other brushes I have tried before, only getting a little bit off. With these cats, I would still recommend getting it for an everyday brush in combo with a de-shedding brush.

Super quick delivery from Amazon! Thought the brush was a bit soiled I gave it a wash before using on my 3 month old Persians. They just absolutely love it!!! And it did pull out quite some hair. It warmed my heart to see them enjoy being brushed for the first time ever! No doubt this Kong product is a must have. Planning to use it on my cocker spaniel too.

Just got my ZoomGroom Cat "brush". I use "brush" in quotes because really, it's a massager that also loosens hair. I have a Medium Haired and Short Haired cat and between the two of them, the short hair sheds the worst. I have a furminator, a slicker brush, and some regular brushes that I use regularly on Louie (short hair), but he really only tolerates the slicker brush and it challenging, because when I brush him with the slicker, he moves a lot and shoves his face in the direction of the brush, and if you've used a slicker, you know that at a wrong angle, those prongs hurt!Fast forward to today - I used the ZoomGroom right out of the box. Louie is in LOVE with it. He stayed stationary while I massaged him using a back-forth motion that kept the nubs of the ZoomGroom in constant contact with his coat. He even let me massage his sides, which he never lets me touch with the slicker. He actually pushed his body into the Zoom Groom to increase contact. I am shocked by his positive reaction.Regarding comments saying that the fur flies - I didn't have that problem - not like the fur that flies with the furminator! If you keep the ZoomGroom in constant contact with your pet and use it in back forth motions, and not the one direction/lift motion you'd use with a brush or comb, you'll find that the fur wraps itself pretty tightly around the nubs and collects there. I did have quite a bit of loose hair that was brought up by the effort of the massage, but that was collected with the slicker brush as a final step. You WILL need to brush/comb your pet after a session with the ZoomGroom, but it's not a long brush - it's mostly just to collect the loose hair that was released through the massage. Amazon's not letting me upload a photo for some reason, so take my word for it - the hair collected so tightly around the nubs that it came off like a hair mold (some might think this is gross, but I thought it might be helpful so you can understand how keeping the ZoomGroom in direct contact with your pet makes the hair stick to the massage tool and not fly around). So - long story short - I'm VERY pleased with the results I had with Louie, and I have no doubt that Winkle will also enjoy being massaged with the unit. I'm confident that regular use will help keep my house fur-free during this shedding season. And it's a great price here on Amazon.

This thing definitely will rid your cat of loose hairs, and performs well on both my long and shirt-haired cats. However, depending on how you are brushing your cat those loose hairs may or may not be actually picked up by the comb. As I found out from another of the reviews on here and then verified on my cats, if you brush your cat in a circular motion, they will eventually form a felt-like layer between the teeth. If you just brush your cat in straight strokes, you'll end up with a bunch of loose fur sitting near your cat's tail that will freely disperse into your surroundings / onto your clothes at a moment's notice. My cats love being brushed, but unfortunately ONLY in straight lines. If I try going circularly they may put up with it for a little while, but if I don't get a warning bite or swat, they'll just get up and walk away. I also suspect the circular motion for hair gathering somehow makes use of static electricity. This means it doesn't work as well for keeping hair on the comb if it's really humid. Because my cats really only like straight brushing, I brush them on the balcony where their hair may go free without getting all over my furniture. I optimistically imagine that birds will find the random clumps of cat hair and be overjoyed at the nest lining material.Despite the funny shape of the brush, it's really quite comfortable to hold and use in either hand. Someone else mentioned that it was difficult for them, so for reference I need to state that I can stretch an octave + 1 key on a piano, last time I tried.Although it worked just fine for both my cats, when I highly recommended it to a friend and he tried it on his cat, which has long, very fine, glossy fur (it feels like a really poofy rabbit!), it had no effect. I couldn't believe my eyes - if you do even one stroke on either of my cats you'll see loose hairs start gathering, either on the cat or on the brush. My friend's cat however, after a good pin down and energetic (but gentle) circular scrubbing had barely any hair come off at all. Apparently he does shed a lot, so it's not like he's hypoallergenic or anything. My own long haired cat has fine hair as well, but perhaps it's not as glossy as my friend's cat's. Keeping this example in mind, while the brush does work excellently when it does work, it may not be for all cats.
