I have a DIY cat scratching post and periodically have to replace the rope. This is a durable rope that holds up very well when used for cat scratching purposes.

My cats had completely shredded their scratching posts, so I decided to DIY replace the rope instead of buying new posts. The price-per-foot from this seller was better than any of my local hardware stores. This rope was too thick to use a staple gun so I had to secure it with hot glue instead, but it works really well and I even have some left over for future touchups!Update: This 1/2 inch sisal rope is holding up MUCH better than the 1/4 inch rope the posts originally came with! It has been several months since my purchase and there is still no fraying/shredding despite daily use by my two cats :)

Absolutely perfect for the cat tree! We have a super scratcher who tore up the carpet, but with this rope and some hot glue, we can save the mess!

Worked GREAT for redoing my cats scratching post! Its thick enough that they can really sink their claws into and get that good scratch but it also holds up really well!

I wrapped this around a 12 foot bar cedar tree to make a climbing tree for my bengal. It shed quite a bit at first, but that is the nature of sisal. Now after being used for a few months there is no shedding, except for when my neurotic cat chews and shreds it.

It’s ropeLike advertised. Agree with petroleum smell. I think they may all have it due to manufacturing process. Didn’t last forever. Good deal.

Not truly 1/2 in more closer to 3/8 in, which makes a difference in the length you truly need in wrapping a project. Other then the diameter in the rope being wrong the product is nice.

I bought this rope to cover the shredded carpet on my cat's big scratching post- lounger. It worked great! Much less expensive to do a rope wrap than buying a new cat tree. This rope is a better quality than the sisal used by the original manufacturer of the cat furniture. In the pictures the right post has the new 1/2 inch rope. The left post still has the old sisal on it. I left it like that for before & after pictures. The shipping was very fast too. Overall, very happy with this product purchase. Would definitely buy this again.
