Such cute patterns! First knitting book where I would actually knit every item. Already knit some, and as a skilled knitter I found the patterns very easy and my cat loves the finished object… a win-win!The patterns are rated for ease, which is nice for a newbie, and I think if you are not afraid to try new skills, you would be very successful.

Great little projects with detailed instruction. So far I've made two mice and a mushroom (with added bell). Kitties love them!

I was really looking forward to knitting up a storm once I received this book. The toys look adorable and at least in images, seemed fairly basic to make. I'd consider myself to be a fairly intermediate knitter - I can (or can figure out) most stitches, follow most patterns and have made a number of kids' toys already. The issue for me in this book is that the patterns are **all** worked on dpns, which I can't stand. I know there's a way to convert the patterns to work on circulars but I'd rather just buy cat toys.

I needed to find something to do during my free time, so I bought this book. And let me tell you, it is fantastic. I love the pictures and illustrations. The patterns all well written and easy to follow. The product is exactly what I was hoping for. I highly recommend it if you are a knitter who loves cats!! :o). Be mindful that this is NOT a book for beginner knitters. Because of the size of the toys you are knitting, some patterns are more challenging than others. I do not read patterns 100% but I have been able to read these ones and follow pretty well.

Cute, fun, quick knits that entertain me more than the cat. I adore the little frogs and lizards and bugs. My cat couldn’t care less. But then, she’s not real big in toys.Oh well. I’m having fun knitting the little things!

It has been a very long time since I knitted something but wanted to spend the winter months making some fun stuff. These are easy to follow patterns, even I can figure them out.

This book is full of darling, very small (~3-4 inches), knitted toys that are easy to knit for an intermediate knitter. Most designs could be made in an afternoon by an experienced knitter. Very cute patterns and ideas. The toys make great handmade gifts for pet-sitters or anyone with a cat. The toys are cute enough to give to kids/people too. Some of the instructions were not quite clear but it was easy to make a good guess and the toy turned out well. Also, it is a beautiful book and would be a nice gift for a knitter.

Dieses Buch wird alle Katzenliebhaber begeistern. Ein paar Grundkenntnisse in Englisch sollten ausreichen um die 25 äußerst originellen Strickmuster umsetzen zu können. Die Vorlagen sind detailliert beschrieben und von wunderschönen Fotos begleitet. Wer noch nicht strickt, bekommt nach dem Durchblättern des Buches garantiert Lust dazu.

If you have a cat, put the cat down, and go buy this book!! If you don't have a cat, go to your local shelter and adopt one or more grown or even senior cats (they are the best). Then take your new cat home, get it settled, and go buy this book!! Then make your kitties as many toys as possible from this book. If you don't know how to knit, no problem. Sara has an excellent tutorial in her book and there are also numerous videos on YouTube.This is the best book I've ever seen or read for knitted cat toys. Sara, the author, is quite a brilliant designers who focuses on "softies." I have followed her on Ravelry.com for years and she just becomes more creative and more talented every year. I particularly like her patterns in Knit for Kitties because they are quite clever in appearance but simple in execution. I would like to knit every toy in the book but initially, I am going for the caterpillar, the mouse, the desert snake, and the garden snail. Her directions are clear. The pictures of the cats are beautiful. And if you don't have any kitties to knit for, quite a few of these toys could be "softies" for children. This is simply a lovely, fun book. I am looking forward to more books from Sara Elizabeth Kellner.

I absolutely recommend this book! The patterns are all very cleverly and clearly written. If you're interested in knitting toys but don't like the fiddly aspect I think this would be a great place to start. Making some of them does get fiddly because they are toys and there are lots of tiny limbs and whatnot, but the patterns only take a few hours to make up. Near instant gratification and a great way to use up scraps.Also, I think these patterns are excellent for a lot more than just cat toys. There are quite a few that I think would be whimsical little decorations in potted plants, or great on top of a wrapped up present tied in with the bow, a couple of them knit up fairly flat like the butterfly and daisy and could be used as an embellishment on a card.I've knit quite a few patterns by this designer and have never run into one that was poorly written or overly confusing.And finally, I found this book surprisingly beautiful for a pattern book of cat toys. The photos are lovely.I should mention that I purchased this book myself and nobody offered me any remuneration for this review. I'm just really excited about this book.
