I installed this on a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ-Rally Edition and it installed perfectly and fairly easily with just regular tools. The only thing to be careful with is when you have to attach it to the head be careful not to tighten the bolt too much. I did and it snapped the bolt and I had to have my mechanic bore it out for me for like 30 bucks haha. He also installed it again for me included. I did struggle (as it is an older car) with getting the Oxygen sensor out of the original housing as it had settled from age and stripped the plastic. I grabbed a little PB Blaster and got it fairly easily after it worked its way through. Be very careful not to let ANYTHING touch the small oxygen sensor itself as this will likely cause your engine light to come on. Keep the O2 sensor clean. This is not a product related issue, more of a heads-up if you intend to install it yourself you will have to transfer your older sensor from your old housing to the new housing (the black box looking thing in the picture). I occasionally have to open the hood and lift up on the cone because I live in a place with VERY bumpy and often dirt washboard roads and it will slowly settle down onto the thermostat modulator attached to the radiator. I also have to pull my battery plastic guard away from the cone as it will rest against it but that takes a single ziptie and isn't really a product defect. As for my gas mileage I have been able to break 40mpg with shell premium (which I always buy anyways) and going up and down a mountain here but I do get to go downhill in neutral. Its performance increase is most noticeable in the throttle response. The lack of resistance this provides in the airflow allows the engine to nearly instantly increase combustion as the throttle is increased. This can also make the car quite jumpy in lower gears. This can be fun but also hard on some passengers who have bad necks. The look is great, I really like the blue and recommend it. My car is bright yellow so the metallic blue is a great color combo. The blue one is made of the same metal FYI as the chrome finish one, I think this model is just more popular so its price is a little cheaper, or was when I ordered it almost 2 years ago. The product quality is great. The performance increase is noticeable, mostly in pedal response time, but also significantly more at high altitudes with less oxygen. Gas mileage increase is definitely nice and I'm sure I have more than paid for the product at this point since my car's estimated gas mileage is around ~30 highway and I am able to break 40 regularly if I drive very carefully (you will need to have a standard for the gas mileage to be noticeable.) I still haven't needed to "recharge" the cone air filter even with all the dirt roads I am on after almost 2 years. I don't add very many miles to the car ~6000-7000/year but the driving I do is in relatively harsh driving conditions compared to that of a flat city or highway type environment. OVERALL: I give it 5 stars. I had a little difficulty installing but that was because of my own mistakes and the age of my car not the product. It was also corrected and installed for me for 30 dollars at my local mechanic. The product itself is great and it also does sound nice. The sound to listen for is the subtle whistle (A good whistle) this will provide as inside the tubing is a piece that causes the air to cyclone and spin allowing more in the engine at once. It is not a loud whistle, but it is noticeable and I love it because I can hear my engine breathing freely.

I was deceived with Article, this product does not come with the MAF sensor, only comes the filter, hose vacum, 4 clamps, adapter MAF, its 2 couplings of black silicon, and piping blue stainless steel and cost is too high for just that.

Really simple to install, I had no previous knowledge and was able to complete in under an hour. Noticed immediate response gain and also looks great under the hood!

I purchased this for my 06 lancer 2.0 Auto, ES trim. It was easy to install, but I don't like the way it fits. Once I had everything installed I noticed there's a large empty space where the filter box used to be and the cone air filter rests right behind the radiator, between the battery case and engine. I thought cooler air to the intake helped improve performance, wouldn't the filter just be sucking in hot air when sitting like that? I am also worried the filter could get damaged over time by rubbing against the battery case, but it's been fine so far. I'm no car expert, but i I feel like the filter would fit and perform better if I used just the maf adapter along with the filter and kept the stock tubing installed because the cone filter in the space where the stock filter box used to be. I would have saved $$$ doing it that way too, but oh well. Overall it looks good, and sound great! I'm not sure of any difference in horsepower, but I have noticed I get around 30-35mpg more to a full tank of regular gas compared to what I averaged before. So I'm happy with it.Message for those of you reading my review: if you want the extra performance but are on a budget and don't care about looks, then just buy a maf adapter and shop a compatible cone filter. I guarantee you can find a setup for under $100 and it will probably work just as well, if not better, than this kit.

I bought the cold air intake and installed it myself. The directions were very clear and easy to follow. I also noticed a huge increase in power. And it sounds amazing with my magnaflow exhaust. Overall definitely a very excellent product and it is legal in California as I got pulled over and he made me pop my hood and said everything looks good because K&N give you the sticker that makes it legal. Again very very very good product. Thank you!

I had this installed on my 02 Mitsubishi Lancer, and it's amazing. The fuel economy boost is noticeable, as well as the few extra horsepower. My favorite part is the sound I get out of it at over 3k rpms. Hard to utilize the better mpg when it sounds so cool...

This is a great product, works well, and looks great. There are different colors, and I chose blue. Came fast, and was easy to install. It actually makes the engine sound louder, and more deep around 3500-4000 rpms. Good purchase, ecspecially for the price offered on Amazon!
