I have several sweaters that dont have buttons and I just wanted something not fancy to keep them closed. These are a great weight and all the colors will match anything. I gave a few away. They aren't so heavy that they pill, and are pointed enough not to cause holes.

These are sturdily made. The problem is that the tip of the pin is not sharp enough to go through a few layers of fabric. So of no use to me.

I needed to close my cardigan and it did. The only thing is that it is bigger than I expected. If you want something smaller this might not be for you.

You can put whatever you want to on them for weight. The main point is holding your kilt so it won't blow so much in the wind.

I just got these and pinned my coat with these beautiful 4" pins. It felt odd - as so many other Reviewers have said - that the pin's tip looked sharp, BUT it didn't want to pierce light material without a mighty push. For price, quality, and looks these are great, so get a nail file and file the tips. No sweat.

I like the size and I can sharpen the point to go through thick fabric. Used to collect and sort small items.

As you can see in the picture: I pin my socks together. Yes, from the time I took them out of the bag, and washed them for the first time, I've pinned them together. It's like that pair stays together for life! Hard to believe, I've been doing this for over 30 years. I started when I was living in a residence for a summer which had a housekeeper who took care of dinner, cleaning, and laundry. In explaining the rules of the residence, one of them was unlike any I have ever heard before. The housekeeper made it clear, "I don't sort socks! If you want them sorted, pin them together with Safety (Diaper) Pins." So, in the next few days, I bought a bunch of these at the local supermarket and did as I was told. I was also told I should choose yellow or white, that no one was using them.I never stopped pinning my socks together after I left the residence that year and assumed responsibility for doing my own wash once again. First of all, I found that pinning them at the bottom of the heel area made them easy to fold and put away. Secondly, in all this time, I have never lost a sock! I might have lost a pair, but I never kept track of them that closely. I also learned something new that summer. I do not like to sort socks either! With this new knowledge, I was not going to go back to old ways. That would be quite stupid. What I thought might have been a cranky complaint, was actually a mouthful of wisdom. After 30 years, some of my plastic-headed safety pins are giving out. The dryers have finally melted them too much. I'm starting to replace them with all metal brands. They'll probably last more than the others, even though I might not last that long!
