I just received this and have only used it a couple times. However, I've owned a Kickerland Step Stool for more than a decade and love it. I wanted a second for another part of the house. It folds, so I slide it into a convenient, unobtrusive spot. I have a taller stool I can retrieve from another room. but this is so handy when one step is enough, such as for grabbing things from upper cabinets.

Buy it. You’ll love it! It’s sturdy, it holds my weight, it’s steady, folds easily, nice looking. I was easily able to remove the black dots on top because I wanted mine all white.

WOW - I obsessed about finding the perfect step stools for my kitchen and main living room area for more time than I care to admit. I wanted something sturdy, that could carry me or virtually anyone whom I might have over (handy-person, father, friend, etc.) and preferably attractive and easy to maneuver... Boy did I ever find all of that and more with Kikkerland's step stools. I bought both the 8.5" (holding up to 300 pounds) and 16" (holding up to 400 pounds) stools in the black and white checkered style. They came in a box that was so lightweight that I couldn't even imagine that they were the stools I'd ordered that "apparently" could hold 300 to 400 pounds, and yet they were and it seems clear that they indeed do (hold such weight). While I haven't actually tested the full weight, from the 175 to 260 pounded people who have used mine, there is NO DOUBT in my mind they can easily and sturdily hold that which they claim - they are super strong!And as for ease of use - I couldn't have dreamed of better. They fold up in a matter of a second (I think literally) and are super slim so that they fit most anywhere - between my refrigerator and wall, leaning up against my file cabinet with virtually no needed angle slant for remaining upright and more... I can think of virtually no one who could not benefit from having these stools. And NONE of the aforementioned even addresses the pricing - it is truly amazing! Thanks, Kikkerland (and Amazon)!

Works great. Supports my fat ass. Pretty stable when you're standing on it. Folds down to reduce space.Only gets 4 stars because the most obvious places to grab and pick it up will result in it snapping closed and pinching your fingers. I got a number of blood blisters before I learned you have to pick it up from underneath.

This is my third folding stool of this kind. I love them because they fold up practically flat and I can store them with ease. I bought this stool in particular because I needed a taller one to reach a high cabinet I have in my hallway. It works perfectly and I can fold the stool up after use and store it behind the door leading into the hall. The stool is made of sturdy plastic and is about 15.5" in height. Once folded, it's width is approximately 1.5" and fits perfectly behind a doorway. (See picture). Keep in mind that because this stool is made of plastic it won't stand up to jumping and heavy weight thrown on top of it repeatedly. I weigh about 145 lbs and it holds me without bowing or changing in shape. The other two smaller stools I own have lasted me several years and one was used to replace our camper stairs, so it saw quite a bit of use. Both are still going strong and have held their shape perfectly. The smaller stools work perfectly as a table to put beside your bathtub to rest a book and glass on while soaking in the tub. You really can't beat these stools for the price, durability, and small profile. I will continue to buy them given their cheap price tag and high quality.

Exactly what I was looking for. It is tall enough for my grandchildren to reach my rather high bathroom sink, and folds into a small space so I don't have to trip over it when they are not here. It is strong enough that I feel confident standing on it to reach high places. But be forewarned: it is easy to pinch your hands when setting it up....I don't have a problem with it, myself, but I can't let the grandkids set it up because their skin gets pinched and they don't have the skill to understand how to keep that from happening. And the directions say to be sure it is snapped in place, but it does not actually do that. When fully open and in use, a person could kick it from the side and cause it to collapse. Neither of these potential problems are a serious problem for me, because both can be avoided with careful use. And due to the fact that it is a pretty tall stool, I am always there when the smaller grandkids are using it anyway. So I recommend this product, as long as the potential problems are not a problem for you.
