Kickport gave my drum so much more punch. Definitely a must for drummers that want a nice punch in the chest sound. I am running an interior mic as well but the kickport did make a huge difference in sound.

While I would have liked to have had the flashier KickPort brand of these, my budget wasn’t quite in line to pick up two of those. After searching and reading reviews I found these. They were a little less than half the price of the KP so I decided to go for it. A quick YouTube video for reference and installation was a breeze. This thing on the stock Sonor resonate head and kick (2009 vintage) with and Evans EMAD2 batter head tuned fairly low with zero muffling inside produces a very nice punchy kick drum from me. I’m using a DW3000 double pedal with a felt batter head. Kick response nicely over my old PDP with pillow and similar batter head with no ports. Great value in my opinion!!
