The pole to support a driveway light is solid. What is inexplicable is there are no suggestions for installation options from Amazon or the manufacturer. The manufacturer says this pole can be installed in the ground but even at 12 " depth it would only be 6' above the ground (making it more of a landscape light rather than a driveway light).. Given the height, my plan was to install this on a concrete post (MidiVE 3" post base purchased from Amazon) that is attached to a concrete footer. The base is secure but when placing the post over the post base, the pole wobbles. No screw holes and hardware are provided to secure the post to the base to ensure it does not wobble in the wind. Welding the post to the base is not an option. Amazon did not provide a link to ask the manufacturer a question and asking "Rufus" is worthless. Truly disappointing.

This pole took quite a while to arrive. Once it did, I was pleasantly surprised that the quality was worth the wait. I have difficulty finding exterior lampposts of this simple style at a reasonable price. As such I just ordered two more for my HOA 6-27-24, due to arrive in August. Yikes. Easy to install after trimming to the correct height. The aluminum with black paint matched the poles on site.

It's not very heavy but it seems sturdy enough for a lightweight lamp. A bit expensive for what it is.

I ordered this outdoor light post to replace a brass outdoor light post. I must say I am glad I did order this one. It came well packaged and securely wrapped. This light post is much stronger and sturdier than the brass outdoor post light I had before. I had this outdoor light post installed (with a post lantern light at the top of course) and connected in the ground in front of the porch.

Very thin aluminum. This is 1/4 of the thickness of other aluminum posts I have worked with. Don’t buy it.

Despite the light weight of this lamp pole, it has good strength and makes an excellent non-rusting base for outdoor lamps. For our installation, we had an aluminum plate welded as a base, drilled for bolts and installed over an existing concrete pad. This takes some real welding skill, but the pole proved thick enough for the purpose. The other pole was installed in a concrete filled form, as usual. Very happy with the results from these poles.
