Had hell of a time trying to get this box to work. At the end just gave up. The wires wouldn't fit inside it's very complicated

Well, constructed and solid. Relatively easy to take apart in assemble, especially with the included wire caps.

A strong 3-position changeover switch with 12 screw terminals, capable of handling two independent high current loads requiring up to three wired supply connections. These may be loads working with DC, single-phase AC, and even three-phase AC supply, up to 240 Volt. It is installed in a plastic weatherproof electrical box with square shape of its base part and lid, so the lid may be re-oriented by 90 degrees if needed. The kit contains the necessary number of fork terminals that may be crimped onto the wires connecting to the switch. Also in the kit are a few small pieces of mounting hardware, as well as four conical waterproofing silicone nozzles with their sizes corresponding to holes' diameters on the sides of electrical box.Overall, this changeover switch kit is for professional use mostly. It is made to operate at high current and voltage conditions, and as such does not represent a general-use household item. Caution needs to be exercised when hooking this switch up, just as with any other electrical application.

On the plus side, this switch solved my need for a transfer switch between shore power and my 3000w inverter and avoid the possibility of having both sources on at the same time. I used the supplied buss bars that mount to the bottom of the box to function as single point output to the RV power center. I like that I control the electrical source that I need and by interrupting the power center 12v converter I'm able to avoid making a power loop when running on the inverter.A few of tips based no my experience:1 - Use stranded wire whenever possible as the connectors on the switch are a bit undersized for solid wire.2 - The supplied "boots" that are to act as guides for the feed wire entrance/exit are too soft. I modified the knock out holes to accept standard strain relief fittings.3 - Unless your application allows placement of the device in a clear space you might find the device extends too far into your living space. I mounted my device under the dinette bench so that they would not be seen or accidentally bumped while entering or leaving the dinette area.

I use this to switch my ham radio station between solar and plug-in. The construction is far more robust than I was expecting for the price. The box itself appears to be waterproof, but I'd probably get some waterproof cable glands instead of the supplied grommets if I were using it in a wet environment.I even have one gang of the switch left over in case I want to add indicator lights. Most highly recommended, whatever the application.

It is used on my diy solar system at home. Handles a 4000 watt inverter wired into residential panel. I can disconnect the inverter, while the generator is running.
